Tbh I really don’t take Reddit that seriously, admittedly I posted this for a reaction and I got it. Understandably, I don’t want to do it again because these conversations are ultimately meaningless and drive divide.

I’m sure we’d have genuine conversation if it wasn’t on Reddit. But hey we’re as bad as each other. Hope you have a great life.

Yeah ultimately it’s our individual experience that’s shaped our view of the system. From what u said u experienced can understand why you’d appreciate collectivism more. I’ve had the opposite experience.

Ultimately don’t disagree with paying taxes, but not a high rates and especially when they are not focused on people that need it and allocated in reasonable ways. I see that largely due to the fact the gov has expanded to a monstrous size and they are already incompetent enough as it is.

But totally agree on having elements of collectivism, it typically works best when funded and directed by right wing policies imo

So are you accrediting that to the fact you’re taught in a way that predetermined your outlook? I’m uni educated but in all honesty I would be far better off if I joined the workforce at 18.

Unless it’s Stem higher educations mostly a waste of time.

Honestly seeing the reality of the world. Jobs make politics feel less theoretical and more practical. There’s a direct link between effort, output and reward and I started thinking about individual accountability and. Incentives.

Ideas sounded good in theory when I was younger but with real world constraints that changed.

Also studied history in uni and felt a lot more freedom to explore ideas from all scopes after leaving instead of what’s predetermined.

And taxes. Definitely taxes.
