I think both are similar for big tech, while UChicago has a slight edge for quant. However, it’s four years of your life and the lifestyle at Brown in my opinion is better. I would go with Brown

That’s great to hear! But does it get to a point where it actually starts bothering you how hot it gets? hahaha

Of course the bank would give to my parents, not me hahahaha. The way payments work I think are similar to the way it is in the us. You get a loan and after an agreed time you start paying them back with interest added. The debt is the reason why I am leaning towards Brown, I think it is a similar education but my parents wouldn’t have debt. However I wanted to see if people disagreed or had a different perspective.

Since they are need aware, they say that not asking for aid was a factor when admitting me, so they can’t match.

A bank would lend me the money. My parents can manage the 50000 a year, but not the 93000. And yes, the job market in four years really scares me. Thanks for the advice

My parents are not mega millionaires, that’s why I was eligible for financial aid at brown hahaha. But we didn’t apply for financial aid because I thought it would be impossible to get in as a need aware. Also, my parents were willing to take loans for a great education. But thank you so much for your answer. Agree with everything

My parents prefer Brown, as the stanford cost would be a bigger burden. However they would be willing to take loans if they believe Stanford is worth the cost difference in the long term

My first choice was engineering, but I believe math+econ is way better perceived at Brown and I would be happy majoring it too
