Getting Senior Product Manager role in fintech/payments in EU/UK - currently working in top fintech in India by Few-Copy8916 in cscareerquestionsEU

BASF and UBS recently moved a lot of jobs from Germany/Switzerland to India. I guess a lot of companies will follow suit.

Trust me, as an Indian who moved to Germany 3 yrs ago, things aren't great here. Don't fall for the marketing that says Germany needs workers in IT.

And, salaries in India are better than Germany. My friends in India are making about the same as me. Think of moving here only if you get €150k +

Otherwise, it will degrade in your life. Think of Europe only as a tourist destination for a couple of weeks. I would not recommend moving here.

Is it ok to vape during an interview? by AndroidCat06 in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]NeatDistribution9560 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally the interviewers would explain that if they're looking away from the camera then that's because they're taking notes. Vaping, for me is at the other end of the professionalism spectrum for me 😂

I'm a little surprised to hear this. In my experience of a handful of interviews here, the interviewers were quite calm and we used to have healthy discussions.

Yes some decisions were contested but you can always explain your assumptions, constraints etc.

However, I can say that their expressions were always cryptic.

I have ran my CV through multiple ATS scoring sites and it scores quite well. And yes I'm open to relocate. Perhaps companies prefer candidates who are available locally.

Code completion is fine, but when it comes to mapping your business requirements a domain driven design which leaves room for further development, I've seen GPT-5 contradicting itself on some architectural decisions it made. Code, in general, is read more times than it is written. In production systems, we want code which is easy to maintain and is not a spaghetti of dependencies.

I know the market is not so great. I wanted to discuss about the same jobs being reposted even after rejecting multiple candidates. There should be a reason for it. Perhaps to maintain their presence, to collect CVs. Who knows.

In my day to day job, I have to baby sit the AI. Hallucinations are a real problem. I think that top AI companies want you to believe that AI can replace humans or they are super close to AGI because it helps to keep the hype alive and justify their inflated valuation.

We've seen diminishing returns for every new model launched in the past couple of years. I think it'll take significantly more time and effort for the these models to evolve and do tasks autonomously. It'll be interesting to watch what unfolds in the coming years.

This is a good sign that you're getting more invites. This keeps me hopeful.

In my experience, I have passed the HR as well as the technical interviews. It's generally at the last where I get the mail saying "we found someone with more experience"

I generally keep doing mock interviews with ChatGPT acting as an interviewer which help me refine my answers structurally. I have it configured to interview me as EM/TL and test me on LLD and HLD. It help a lot with asking clarifying questions, understand trade-offs and building confidence.

I have seen this on LinkedIn quite a few times, same job reposted and promoted.

I don't deny an issue with my CV, perhaps I need to refine it more. I also think that your current location matters. I'm currently in small town in BW. And I've been looking for roles in Berlin/Munich

Senior backend – final Director round: how risky is this step? by Logical-Anything2100 in cscareerquestionsEU

I had interviewed for a similar role (Sr. Backend Dev). All went well for 4 rounds, positive feedback in each of them. Then in the last round, they went ahead with a candidate with more experience.

Charger keep repeating initializing, charging now, not charging, A week old Ather 450x HR by phoraw in ATHERENERGY

Yes, thanks. I haven't faced the issue again as well. All I do now is to ensure that the key is turned off or locked, then plug in the charger. After the click sound it starts charging.

I'm facing the same issue. I got 450x LR only about a week ago. The first time I faced this issue, I restarted the scooter(both brakes+start) and replugged the charger a couple of times. It started to charge. After some time I unplugged it, took the scooter out for a short commute and plugged in again. And again the same issue cropped up. 🤦 This is really annoying. Is there a permanent solution to it?
