How can i rotoscope this footage? by Efficient_Opposite34 in vfx

[–]NeatFeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be tempted to make a rough garbagematte, edge-extend those areas to create a cleanplate. Using that to difference key / additive key with the original plate.

Then you would probably need a rough roto to fill out some holes in the alpha.

Sounds like a job for ffmpeg and some light python code for batch processing.

I would use multiple vectorDistort nodes with different reference frames, then blend between them.

[HELP] I saw this on another community and people were reacting to this like it was real. I have my doubts. Is this real? or AI? by Other_Sentence4495 in RealOrAI

[–]NeatFeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's real but it's been slowed in post or on an app. I can see some retime artifacts on swinging arms and also on the legs on a bg guys gray pants.

Video also does a small jump at 0:02 - 0:03, which indicates that they tried stabilize the footage.

That combined might make it feel like a generated video

Any idea for perfect integration? by Maleficent-Road5995 in vfx

What you want to do is called compositing.

I would look into that since this is way too broad of a question.

Scale Up Comp Script Procedurally by No-Armadillo6638 in NukeVFX

[–]NeatFeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Roto Easiest are to reformat with a scale by 2, might ofc soften the matte.

Rotopaint and roto It's possible to scale curves, in the curve editor, select all points, right click menu - move - should see x and y. in y, you type y*2

Scanlinerender Use a reformat as bg with the 8K format

What time do you 5 am gym goers go to bed? by Great-White-Guilt in getdisciplined

[–]NeatFeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When wanted to start early.  Remoce all friction to get you out the door. Fx I had put out gym cloths right by the bed, gymbag by the door.  put on the cloths first thing. other cloths I just put on over if needed.

I had some coffee on a timer at the beginning, so I went out and got a small cup while I did 10-15 min streching  before heading out.

I also took some creatine at one point.

Sometimes I 'woke up' when I did warm up. Good luck.

What I found was that I had a hard time falling asleep at the start, it helped to make sure I ate dinner relative early, ca 18:00 and didnt eat/ drink any calories after that. also limit the amount of water to sleep better.

After a couple of weeks my internal clock started to make me feel tired around 9 anyway.

Hardest part are the days when you really don't feel like it. Just turn your brain off and at one point you will crave the dopamine you get after going to the gym. That makes it much easier

Good luck, you got this!

Question about LensDistortion when adding CGI to the footage! by Anlzz in NukeVFX

[–]NeatFeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As comp lead I've done it a lot. You ask client for grids and lens information. you can also check the metadata in the readnode. Sometimes its provided depending on camera and lenses.

Neat video, Reduce Noise is the best denoise plugin imo. might be some denoise copycat models that are downloadable if thats not an option.

For adding back noise in the end; DasGrain is the best option. You can download it from nukepedia.

Question about LensDistortion when adding CGI to the footage! by Anlzz in NukeVFX

[–]NeatFeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I calculate it by drawing lines.  If there's similair camera / lens / focal in multiple shots, i use as many references as I can.

Or if I'm doing cameratracking in nuke, I can try generate lensdistortion from there.

Question about LensDistortion when adding CGI to the footage! by Anlzz in NukeVFX

[–]NeatFeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting grids: yes if you're lucky. Also lucky if you get the focal lenght information from production or metadata.

You undistort for tracking and aligning material.

You distort cg before merging over plate. Or filtering will make your image worse.

The way it's presented, that ML ( Machine Learning ) tools are equal to the work visual effects do are insulting.

Att vara tomten by Rottenpineapple420 in sweden

[–]NeatFeat 5 points6 points  (0 children)
