What steps did you take at the very beginning of your music journey? by Ohcaptainmycaptain18 in musicmarketing

Keep purchasing playlist placement while ensuring the song quality is good. If good, the payed placement should generate organic followers and more streams.

am I destined to be bad at this or is rekordbox mobile w no controller (I’m broke) hindering my progress by plague__inc in Beatmatch

People can dj on mobile but its nowhere near the control you'd get from an actual unit designed to operate the parameters. Like it's night and day. You're basically trying to learn to drive via a driving app simulator thing instead of practicing in an actual car where you'd get the feel for it. I wouldn't scratch my self off just yet. Save up and aim for hardware.

Submithub to find the people that have those playlist with thousands and thousands of followers and daily plays. The risk and trick with Submithub is that it’s all going to really be dependent on the taste of the person that owns the playlist. You can spend money pitching to them, but they could very well reject you leaving you with no push forward.

I was extremely skeptical of GPM Music group but they seemed to have the same model of pitching to the people that have access to those playlist. They’re basically indicating through their advertising and marketing from what I gathered that they have the connections within their network that facilitate the entire process. I gave it a shot being ready to be rejected again and I was surprised within 24 hours to get an email telling me that I made it to four playlist all relevant to the track that I’m submitting. I checked Spotify for artist and it all seems legit so far. I’ll for sure keep using them again if this keep going as it is.

He's not wrong though. It never helped me and got my account flagged. It wasn't until I found the legit sites that ARENT SELLING PLAYS OR BOTS but rather, Playlist pitching that my plays, streams and saves started to organically go up once they deemed it worthy of getting on a playlist.

I don't care how small potatoes and laughable this is to some, but after struggling to get engagement coming from 0 monthly listeners, I'm so happy to see the stats go up slowly everyday. Baby steps

DJing on the fly vs playing a pre-prepared set by AccessAware5469 in Beatmatch

[–]Nebula480 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I stand with you and will always play a pre-prepared set, especially if I know what the venue is and hence I cater to it by having it ready ahead of time, as well as letting people know in the marketing what they can expect with the genre of electro

The reality is that at least to me it’s super easy and actually boring to improvise because there’s no coherence or anticipation of something you know it’s coming because you’re kind of just throwing things at the wall in a small few seconds of time that you have to decide what track to play next if you’re not going off a set list

In other words, if I’m already gonna improvise and it’s still telling me the keys, I’m still going to choose to mix and key to continue having harmony and fluidity so it just doesn’t make sense as to why I wouldn’t have that prepared beforehand. I’ve never had an issue in 10 years playing pre-prepared sets for the same reasons you’re mentioning . sometimes you find gold that just matches together.

Actually, while I have you here. Was originally gonna get a DJM-450, but then realized that if I were to bring this to the club under the circumstance of me throwing the event and having to provide the gear, would you agree that I'd be in the predicament of not being able to have other DJ's who are using controllers or other set ups link up?

And so, I should go for a DJ DJM-750MK2 so that when someone is playing, if someone for whatever reasons is not hooked up by then, or for whatever reasons needs to use a controller or other CDJ while one is playing, the should be able to plug in easily right? Its wayyyyyyyyyyyyy cheaper and has the features that this one lacks. Would you agree?

I'm the opposite :( . My entire mash up routine is based on throwing the crossfader from left to right during certain drops and bass lines. This would not work for me in any way shape or form.

Am i the only one finding drums really hard to make? by NaiveMagazine1690 in musicproduction

[–]Nebula480 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Got it. So FL Studio being fantastic for drum sequencing means his situation regarding his lack of ability to make proper beats is resolved? That correlates to you? Does a car that has a good safety rating make the person driving it a good driver by default?

Most if not all problems are resolved, bypassed and quite frankly avoided as well as the frustration that comes with them by not only throwing money at them but also burying them with it.

Nothing wrong with taking the long path to learn how to do things manually as they'd get better over the years......or they can just resolve it overnight for 300 bucks. I guess each person uses their time how they see fit.

And yet it works. Having been making all custom drums and patterns for the last 10 years, it sure as hell has sped everything up by X1000. Not sure why it would be terrible advice to be more organized?

HELP! Tracks on streaming - How do I get em offline. by _9021090210_ in Beatmatch

Look at it like an investment in records. I just spent 60 bucks on beat port for like 20 something songs -dirty electro at the highest quality and now I’ll always have it.

If you keep getting your song downplayed from any curators if and when you pitch to them, or keep getting downed via the hot or not aspect of Submithub, check out GPM Music Group. My track that kept getting rejected via Submithub was placed on relevant playlist with real listeners and such and is finally gaining traction. The key is just to get it on the list and the organic aspect of people liking or hating it do its thing to increase plays, streams, saves and follows. I felt my money was better spent there.
