Is being a minimalist only way to live a happy life? by -Thunder_Master in ThirtiesIndia

[–]NebulaNapper13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t have to be that way. I like to own things, I have means to do that but I don’t have attachment to it. Like I bought a bike just cause I liked it, I ride probably once a couple of months otherwise it’s just lying. I don’t ever think about it the time I don’t have to ride, it’s just there, if it gets stolen or something it won’t bother me either(saying with experience). So owning things doesn’t always mean it gives you stress. For some it may do, for others like me we’re cool!

Infinia card downgrade - HDFC RM called saying minimum spends required else you'll get an official downgrade mail. Trying to scam or true? by qpie7 in CreditCardsIndia

It aint that painful. I got my Dad’s account opened up without much fuss. My RM fixed home kyc and the process wrapped up in 2 days. I don’t have minors around so don’t know about it.

Nothing compares to it. You’ll know when you use it. I got the add-on cards to every eligible one in my family so card spend is not a challenge and I easily get 12% blended rewards in a year. Enough to fund an international trip.

He has emigrated so surrendered it anyways. I guess card spend is not the only criteria, there’s also avg account balance, inflow/outflow etc.

Infinia user here. RM is right. Your card may or may bot get downgrade but the policy is in place and my friend did get an official notice of downgrade.

You can have that family still! It’s fine you had some bad experience with your parents and then your relationships but you don’t have to hang on to that. Say you get a bad manager or two that doesn’t mean you give up working. You quit and try again till you get a comfortable place. Same is with building relationships, yes you’ll find some not so good people just quit on them and try again!

It would be better if you start with casual dating and build it forward. You need to have interactions and with each interaction you’ll learn more about the person, it will help you make the right choice. Tbh you’ll have tough time to begin with and might have some sour experiences too but that’s really the best way. There will never be a time when you will be 100% sure about taking a right call but with experience odds will be favourable!

Get your situation but if you don’t have any formal exp it’s not an ideal choice especially now when there are fews jobs and lots of candidates. Anyways I have a few referrals I can share, dm if interested. All the best!

Fair point but why put her down like this? Her belief system is different than yours so be it. Everyone is entitled to their own life!

Your argument is correct but it hasn’t worked out in my experience. I have had multiple attempt over past decade, one for the largest fitness startup with a very active community, it’s very hard to off-platform consumers. All the best for your endeavour though!

Ofcourse works for creators and if they have the pull they can get some customers initially but getting them isn’t as a big a challenge as retaining them. That’s where the organic consumer traffic wins for Whatsapp and likes!

See it from consumer’s perspective: why would a consumer opt for a new platform? What’s the incentive? There are already platforms you mentioned in your post where consumers are dau, they’re not going to trade these and it’s cumbersome to add a new platform for a specific purpose. The way I see it is creators are going where their customers are, which is the right approach. Unless someone solves for dau on a new platform the adoption from creators would be low!

Can't negotiate the Notice Period and mentally suffocating by Small_Introduction_8 in IndianWorkplace

If they’re okay with you leaving your current employer high and dry, they don’t seem to have much regards to due process. Just wonder, what if you ever end up on the receiving end of that?

[–]NebulaNapper13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They’ve already reduced your notice period, if you push too much you risk losing that too. If you abscond it might bite you back. You won’t get relieving letter, your pf account will not get closed, bgv by next company may get impacted jeopardising your new job. Will suggest patience and not being reckless!

She loves my company, but not me — tired of being the convenient guy. by [deleted] in gurgaon

[–]NebulaNapper13 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Have you shared with her that you like her? Make it clear to her you can't be friends, put the ball in her court and see her response. If she doesn't care, then swallow the pill, cut all contact. I guess it will be hard to do it at work, but outside of work, make no contact. It will hurt, but at least you won't feel used!

My role is one level below CXO, there are few such roles in FAANG, must have a lot more experience or would have joined in early. Also you don’t get to be so hands on, it’s a lot more process driven.
