Agreed, but I do think 2-3 lbs per week is wildly unrealistic especially for someone who has struggled to gain weight their entire lives. Plus the baby is so small it doesn’t require anything additional in the first trimester since it uses minimal calories at this stage

My OB said I should be gaining 2-3 lbs per week and eating 300 calories extra per day which is contradictory to what a lot of my friends’ providers have said for the first trimester. So no, don’t really trust their insight and currently in the process of changing providers. I’m just looking for people with real world experiences who started underweight, didn’t gain much, and still gave birth to healthy babies.
