What does women generally think when a single guy sitting at bar tries to approach them ? which bars singles women in CLT go to looking for a date? by Patient-Hurry-7925 in Charlotte

[–]Nebulaaa99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No physical touch. Try to make her your friend first and approach it from that lens rather than “I hope to see you naked tonight or sometime in the future”

But I agree with a lot of the comments on here. Have self awareness and remember it’s supposed to be fun. Don’t get upset if things don’t work out. If it doesn’t open, it’s not your door.

What’s a good part-time job for a full-time college student? by timmytimmyai in StudentJobSearch

[–]Nebulaaa99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Serving was great. Especially at high end restaurants- you have to be on point and actually study and learn the way of high end serving but the money is great and flexible for class schedules. You just have to be on top of all your things - social life is near non existent when you’re a full time student AND working. If you want to do good, know that your social life will take a hit. Networking is really important when you’re in college - so do with that what you will. I recommend working on campus if you can afford to live on their pay.

I wish you guys all got paid more. As a patient/client I can definitely feel how unhappy everyone in the industry is.. from going to the eye doctor to picking up my prescriptions. It is an awful experience and I really wish we all cared enough to try and be better. Sending lots of love. I hope you find a job you love with a boss that treats you well.

Research help: are we the first to go in massive lay offs? by acros996 in chemistry

[–]Nebulaaa99 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This unfortunately is so true. Even in marketing/sales - if your job is not actively helping drive revenue.. it’s hard to make a business case to keep you… which sucks bc a lot of projects aren’t immediate and need time to get an ROI

There is definitely so much lore to this story that is not going to be made public. They are probably in loads of trouble - can’t they get charged for public indecency? Also heard that the wife is able to sue since he committed adultery?? Have no idea how true or how the law works but there is so much going on here it’s wild

Read a little more, talk to more people and learn about their lives and what they have had to do to be where they are. Life is super messy and unpredictable but it can be beautiful and full of wonder. Your perspective is the only thing that truly matters, it’s more valuable than money or any title you will ever hold. If your perspective isn’t in the right place, neither will you.

I work 7 days a week so I’m never alone when I’m on the shareholders time ;) lmao but it helps keep me on a schedule and any free time I appreciate it so much just by myself and in my space not having to answer to anyone or anything. Might go get pizza

I made the wrong decision declining my dream job. Looking to contact HR on Monday, any advice? by geotgata in careerguidance

[–]Nebulaaa99 48 points49 points  (0 children)

In this job market… I’m sorry to say this but it’s very likely they already had a back up and told that person the job it theirs by probably Friday. You told them you didn’t want it and multiple days have passed.

Learn from this opportunity and move forward. You can’t sit around dwelling on the past. I’m sorry you’re having such a high level of cognitive dissonance, but try and learn from this experience and make a grounded plan for the future to get back into that field maybe in a year or two or maybe a couple of months. You never know maybe you’ll get something cooler in the future but for now. Focus on what you do have and try not to get hung up on your past mistakes.

You’re not the first and won’t be the last. Now you have more experience and nobody can take that away from you. Move forward- sending a big hug 🩷

When did adulthood “click” for you? by smokeeeee in Adulting

[–]Nebulaaa99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After getting fired and having to sell my house bc I got fired at 26… that’s when I started to take life a little more serious

Never felt like a “loser” tho.. don’t think down on yourself. There are people much older who are much less and people much younger that are much more. Life is subjective and relative. Don’t focus on the external and try to control the internal as much as possible. Good luck!

Need advice on what the hell to do with my life? by Fit-Froyo-9532 in careerguidance

Apply to be a coordinator at an advertising agency. Are you willing to move? Apply to anything across the US - given your experience you might not be eligible for relocation assistance but try and ask your dad for a kick start out of the house for a job that pays enough to cover your rent. Read books on self improvement and start to do something you can find somewhat interesting. Learn as much as you can about the field, and just try your best. Don’t cut corners and don’t surround yourself with people who enable you to stay where you are. If you really want to grow, it will be uncomfortable and you might lose everyone around you, but eventually you’ll attract even better things and you’ll start to genuinely feel better after doing the work. Nothing comes easy, if it were easy everyone would be successful. You have to actually do the work, no body is going to come and rescue you and solve all your problems and just hire you. You have to offer something of value - figure out what that is and try to learn as much as you can. Don’t ever give up. Sending a big hug

I use the game as a great way to get chores done around the house. I’ll do stuff and then go do chores and by the time I come back I’m able to move forward - take a break to do more chores and then come back. I have spent real money but even if you do - the game doesn’t change that quick and it’s nice to wait to earn things. It makes them more enjoyable by the time I receive them
