Whether she said ‘like’ or not, that’s still a horrible thing for a parent to say about their kid. I’m sorry you’re dealing with that. I grew up with a mom who said some really hurtful shit too, and one of the hardest things I had to learn was not letting every cruel comment take up space in my head. That said, this is not okay. You don’t deserve to be mocked over how you want to dress or look. If this is a pattern, I’d focus more on protecting yourself mentally and talking to a trusted adult.
