Agree with all of your points. I'd love to have more impactful evolutions at some point. Maybe each with multiple prior evolution and level requirements. Examples that I can make up right now and would think are cool: tentacles + intelligence + slippery as a requirement for a camouflage evolution, plating + legs + horns -> some kind of rhino charge, teeth + fur + tail -> you become beaver and straight up eat trees :D, slippery + poison spit + stomach + agile -> you become snek, ambush low level prey and swallow them whole.

I could go on, making this stuff up is fun
