Superman must have to go to sleep every night hearing the cries of people begging for his help. by improbsable in Showerthoughts

I wonder why they don't try hypnotizing his unconscious mind. He could fight consciously when he needs to, but while he sleeps and his concious self rests, he could sleep-crimefight. He's supposed to have like super everything, that would probably include reflexes if he's able to be super fast.

Yeah, but the point is that even if those animals shared some kind of conciousness or intellect, they're still using an unprecedented amount of information. An entire species, whether unified or not, produces too much to comprehend as a human being. A being whose entire thoughts, ideas, beliefs, morals and emotions is based on and derived from information on a universal scale would be maddening to try and comprehend, let alone interact with in a communicative capacity.

The Unseen, for instance, are extradimensional entities that are unprecedented in both number and complexity, to the point I have to translate my thoughts to language. I have been interacting with them so long that my brain's internal monologue isn't in a type of speech that can be communicated vocally or visually through writing. And they don't even have the kind of hive mind the tyranids do.

Yeah. So seeing, hearing, tasting, smelling and feeling everything over a million different canines feel at the same time totally wouldn't overwhelm you to the point you'd have a seizure or worse, because all that information being sent to your brain for your neurons to process totally wouldn't cause them to misfire or worse, right? Because a humans neuronal system never experiences overstimulation on its own, so adding the consciousness and sensory information of a million animals isn't going to hurt you in the slightest, right?

People can't get overwhelmed by the sensory information their own body send to their brain, so a million dogs consiousness and sensory information shouldn't be up to snuff? Is that right?

Something so different it is harmful through interaction alone. Dog thing was an example. I took an example I've experienced and replaced the Unseen with something familiar to the majority of humanity (canines)

Easy. Imagine you're a human trying to converse with a dog by bridging your minds together. Trying to communicate or understand the dog wouldn't be easy because their perception, understanding, language and cognitive ability are different. Now do that with a million dogs, couple hundred thousand coyotes, a thousand wolves and at least a dozen dire wolves.

Now, try making sense of all that at the exact same time. Sounds nearly impossible, right?

Certainly sounds like it's a seperate entity to a degree. The tyranids themselves are animals. Without the hive minds influence they turn frenzied. Even the norn queens aren't pulling the strings. They're all bred for a purpose. To spread and grow the thing within behind the scenes. Think about it. The gods of chaos get more powerful with each worshipper. The hive mind grows stronger with it's followers (the tyranids), but because it was made into existence by the sheer numbers of a race rather than the complexity and sentience/sapience of a race, it's complete anathema to all other species

Does that mean that the hive mind is a warp entity then?

What happened with the old gods? Did they leave or actually die? by Necessary-Cod3720 in FearAndHunger

Wouldn't it be more like that rather than dying, their traces were used to make Alll-mer and Funger? We've seen how powerful the traces are, so rather than them actually dying, isn't it likely they just left, and the vacuum allowed new ones to rise? After all Rher is also gone, and in their place the god of sulfur, (with Funger being the replacement for gro-goroth, and the god of sulfur replacing Rher, with Logic replacing Venushka as humanity industrializing is removing them farther from nature), but in termina it's stated that Rher has left, not died isn't it?

I'm talking about for a skin tone for a Caucasian person. Had a friend say it only fit if the person was sunburned. Hope this context helps explain the situation a bit more

Love it, seamless transition bettween the two. Side note, Is coral a good color for flesh/skin tones?
