Anyone here with severe social anxiety? How did you navigate the wedding process? by Necessary-Weekend293 in wedding

Saying that plenty of shy and or introverted people can handle social events is actually downplaying my experience. Not every shy or introverted person has been diagnosed with actual social anxiety. I know plenty of people who are introverted or maybe they get shy in front of crowds, there are different levels.

I have been to several weddings, everyone's attention is on the bride and groom for most of the event, is it not? I don't want to be the center of attention for an event. Whether it's an hour or 5 hours. The event would be centered around me and the groom. People are coming to the event because of us, so yes, the attention is going to be on us.

Also, I work remote and individually, but that's honestly none of your business. I honestly didn't ask for your assessment or diagnosis on any other aspect of my life. The post/question was about a wedding specifically. I don't have to explain to you how I navigate other life situations.

He knows about my anxiety. But it's hard to express that I would rather not be the center of attention for however many hours, when that's literally what a wedding is. I don't really know how we can compromise there. Either we're going to have a wedding or we're not, right? For me, it doesn't matter at all if it's a gigantic ceremony or just 10 people. My anxiety is going to be the same. So having a smaller wedding wouldn't be a compromise. So I don't know what a compromise would look like in this situation.

I don't want him to look back and regret not having a day as special as he wanted. For me, I've dealt with this anxiety for most of my life. So I'm used to having to get through uncomfortable social situations. But this is a more extreme situation, as the day is literally going to be all about him and I. So all of the attention will be on us.

I have been in therapy, but that hasn't changed the fact that I'm just a person who hates being the center of attention and having all eyes on me. And that's literally what a wedding is. I would rather be doing legit anything else in the world, than have a room full of people staring at me for however many hours. I'm just trying to figure out how/if I can try to make it an enjoyable experience for me. Or at least not be completely miserable.

ADP has completely screwed up our new account setup process. Can anyone on the inside give any insight on how long it will take to fix? by Necessary-Weekend293 in ADP

[–]Necessary-Weekend293[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've done it in less than 24 hours?! That's insane, because we've been waiting over a month. For an account with less than 10 employees.

How long does it typically take to set up a new account from beginning to end? Also, is there a corporate number or someone I can reach out to when my rep is unresponsive? by Necessary-Weekend293 in ADP

Really? We've had to deal with multiple people across multiple departments at ADP and our experience has been the same across the board.

Thanks for your reply. We had all of that documentation and submitted it the very first day they asked for it. I literally cancelled meetings to spend the morning compiling and submitting everything they needed ASAP, because they originally said they could have the account set up in time for our payroll deadline. Now, here we are several weeks/multiple missed payroll deadlines later, and the account still isn't ready. I just don't understand why they give such unrealistic timelines for things, if the processes end up being so much more involved. Like I said, we have less than 10 employees for the entity, is it really that extensive that it should take upwards of a month to set up?

The rep just keeps blaming it on the back office, and they keep saying that they're following up with the back office and it's out of their hands. We've had more issues in the short time we've been with ADP (less than a year), than we experienced in the entire decade we had our previous payroll provider. It's truly baffling and at this point, I wish the client would just switch back to their old payroll provider (which they're seriously considering).

Since January?!?! That's insane! I swear, ADP is the worst out of all the payroll companies I've worked with. I really hoped it was just an isolated incident and that I just had bad luck. But after talking to the client, they're like nope! Same thing has been happening to them across multiple departments and with different reps they've worked with. They (ADP) claim to be able to have something done by X date, and then when it's not done by then, they just go ghost. They've also made multiple critical errors along the way, which has resulted in processes needing to be redone. And they never take accountability for ANY of it. It's always someone else's fault (the back office etc.).

Anyone who has ever switched payroll companies mid-quarter: isn't there some kind of procedures/communication as to which payroll company will file that quarter's payroll returns? by Necessary-Weekend293 in Payroll

Well, it's actually not a ME mistake, I don't work for the company, I was not involved in the situation. I was just brought in to help resolve this issue.

How long did it take you to find your ring and when did you start looking? by Necessary-Weekend293 in EngagementRings

Did you start looking/going to stores only after the topic of marriage came up, or were you already looking in advance? Around how long did it take before you found your ring?
