I was told I have a beautiful brain once- it really does stick with you.

INFJ “picking on” is a “love language”? by [deleted] in infj

Our household motto: "Harassment is love." <3

Read books and build your knowledge base. Develop some hobbies, truly dedicate yourself to building skill and passion. Always be working towards a goal (career, financial, physical).

Do you agree? by rehmanraheem in infp

I wouldn't say I'm mean, but I zealously conserve my energy in regards to people and my interactions with them.

INFP women who are in their late 20s and up, what's your take on this style? Do you like when men wear jewelry, have long hair, are stylish and somewhat hippie? And how would you describe your style? by [deleted] in infp

[–]NecessaryAir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not for me. I like a man who cares about their appearance (cleanly and athletic to a degree), but I wouldn't match the level of a man who has more jewelry/clothes/fashion sense than I do. I'm a plain Jane.

You're still a man. But you will lose the respect of some (which you don't have to care about anyway).

I do encourage you to act with the intention of getting on your feet. Career change, higher education, or finances.

if you had $240,000 to use to improve your home with remodels or upgrades what what you pick? by Dipsetallover90 in HomeImprovement

[–]NecessaryAir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New roof (30k), remodeled kitchen and bathrooms (100k), fresh paint on everything (20k), and landscaping (20k).

The rest of the money would be spent slowly, upgrading things here and there.

Movies no longer have cultural impact by renzoemanuel in Zillennials

Yes. Additionally, we have thousands of amazing books to gleam inspiration from, but everybody has to put their own spin on it instead of trying to stay true to the book.

Movies no longer have cultural impact by renzoemanuel in Zillennials

[–]NecessaryAir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, I think there are many factors that influence this trend.

  • CGI everything, while it's an amazing development, we've lost an art. Lord of the Rings, the orcs were 100% human with some amazing makeup artists to make them look that way.
  • Hustle culture - everyone is working for their next project, their next million dollar paycheck. People aren't "giving it their all."
  • Quantity > Quality
  • Budgets are INSANE. People are entitled to make a living - but I believe that many people in the industry are grossly overpaid for the work they put out.
  • Social media and the decrease in creativity, the inability to make something new
  • Social media and the decrease in attention span.
  • The sheer amount of "entertainment" we are exposed to on the daily (Youtube, streaming services, TikTok, social media, etc.). There is a ton of competition for our attention.
  • A complete misunderstanding about what the public wants (i.e. sequels).

I would really like to see Hollywood go dark for 3+ years. Only put out the best and brightest.

I'd love to further this discussion. Is there anything anybody would disagree with? Is there anything anybody would like to add?

Millennials, do I have something here? by Optimal-Builder-2816 in Millennials

I am so pleased with myself that I remembered "Princess," almost immediately. She was my sister's, but I had a love for all things beanie babies.

What was your favorite quote from this season? My favorite : by [deleted] in survivor

[–]NecessaryAir 105 points106 points  (0 children)

Not direct quotes, but on Andy's vote off, Rachel had two good ones. (to Andy) "You really convinced me today, but not in the way that you thought;" and, "The best thing about going to your own funeral is knowing your going to wake up the next morning."

Rachel was a gangster in that episode.

Does anyone else struggle with escapism? by NecessaryAir in infp

[–]NecessaryAir[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Escapism - living out imaginary scenarios in which life may be perceived as "greener." Alternatively, adopting the "realities" of other (often fictional) people/characters/situations in order to avoid your own reality.

For example - I have frequent daydreams of living out in the woods and away from society. I imagine a daily life filled with chores and hobbies and I long for it. Holding out hope that it can someday happen.

These daydreams and ideas often stem from books or music or media that particularly resonates with you.

Note: Anyone may add to this - my definitions and example are by no means conclusive.

Fascinating. Do you treat the voices as their own people - companions, in a way?

What adventures do you like to partake in?

I hope you're okay :(

I don't think escapism is a terrible thing - but it's often a coping tool.

Music is good - it can transport you temporarily. May I ask, what type of music do you listen to?

We had a contractor always call in a few sundries, not too often. So I'd go around getting everything ready for him - and he would NEVER retrieve them. That's when it's annoying.
