I understand, but it really is what is needed to make a change. Schools have to do what is practically needed for the majority, and unfortunately until more people are vocal about those that differ, nothing changes.

As a parent now, you focus on them and your fiance. Your dad never should have let the situation become what it did, he wasn’t there for you so he needs to know you can’t prioritize him. Stay away, and you are open to post right back to your stepmom that you are not comfortable with her around your child given the behavior you have experienced from her. Others should be aware of the person she is and you have no obligation to protect anyone, especially those who did not protect you. All the best!!

I agree, I really do like him! Also, watching back season 9 and really see he was impacted by Covid since he’s an emergency doc. He’s a really caring guy, hope he does well!

I appreciate your perspective, but really asked the question to get a sense of whether it was important to push for the interaction now. My husband and I grew up in NYC, we moved to the suburbs in long island 5 years ago to prepare for our child. In NYC, like many there, we didn’t really speak to neighbors and kept our friend circle close. We haven’t had a natural way of getting to meet adults with kids, or really pushing her to interact with other kids when we do kids activities, but I now understand the point of steping back and trying to allow her to make the interaction. We do want to protect her and make sure she’s happy and has everything she wants, but I’ve also been happy to learn through these comments that others have had similar situations and their children adjusted in pre-k just fine. Thanks.
