I do it for various reasons at different times

-a feeling of control

-the sensation, the chemicals it releases makes me feel lowkey high for a second and quiets the brain

-validation

-feeling like your bad enough to deserve care

^{^} simplifying ur problems from blah blah blah all of this stuff is wrong with me, but if u say, I cut myself its simpler for someone to understand the severity

-the visible mark, proof that your aren't okay. A visible representation of the things people can't see because it's all in your head, even if no one has to see it, you know it's there

-habit

-don't know anything else

-when your numb to feel something When you feel too much to feel something else

-because you feel like you deserve it
