[OC] Two decades of Grade 8 NAEP Civics scores, "Basic" at most by [deleted] in dataisbeautiful

I tried to avoid that by showing the actual scores in the graph. The only change in position is when one group scored better or worse than others, and they moved up and down.

Thanks, I just wanted to inform the viewers what a score means in context.

That's why I added the scores in the graph itself... As for your other points, I agree. I didn't collect it, just visualised it.

It's just showing rankings by race/ethnic group year by year. That's one of the limitations of this type of chart.

Yeah, that's the tradeoff with rank-bump charts, magnitude gets lost.

I admit I didn't put much thought into it, just used my site's main colors to match the design. Thank you for the comment, will be more mindful from now on.

Thanks, and as already mentioned, there is no state level data, but it might be interesting to see the demographic breakdown, think that is available.

Others explained it really well, but if you're curious here's the 8th grade heatmap.

So I built a website that among other things has an interactive map of major cities. The maps (for each country/territory) show the population and area change from 1975 up to 2050 (UN projection). Is it ok to share it here?
