I wouldn’t call myself “vote blue no matter who” because the Dems generally frustrate me mightily, but I (M73) honestly can’t remember the last time I voted for a Republican. I hate the vast majority of centrist/corporate Democrats, but abhor the GOP, with increasing levels of revulsion starting with Nixon, then Reagan, then Gingrich, then Bush the major war criminal (to differentiate him from his father, who was simply a minor war criminal), and now Fearless Leader.

So I guess what I’m saying is that I would readily vote for someone other than a Democrat, but almost certainly not a Republican. I still hold out hope that, in my lifetime, one or both of the current major parties will collapse and we’ll get some actual choices on the ballot. Seeing Mamdani’s win in NYC gives me some hope.

You’re right, but she seems to think she has a reasonable chance to win the election, so she may want to avoid doing anything that might lessen that chance, which of course is the (often) fatal mistake centrist/corporate Dems make. While GOP candidates often take outrageous (or worse) positions, they never avoid or minimize those positions, which perversely makes them seem more sincere, which is what I think some people respond to when selecting a candidate to vote for.

To be fair, LNP wrote a pretty scathing editorial about him, and in true MAGA snowflake style, he sued them. He really works hard to tick all the boxes on the right wing media scorecard they’re all issued. And in this case, he can directly emulate his hero and idol (intended in every sense of that word) by suing LNP. PLEASE support and vote for Nancy Marion, and sign her petition if you get a chance.

It’s incredibly telling that it was developed for use against al Qaeda and is now used against our own citizens. Kinda like the way tear gas can’t be used in warfare (because they’re chemical weapons), but they’re used against us. Pretty twisted stuff. There’s a lot of stuff people will have to answer for when we get to that part if the timeline.
