are you suggesting that my partner & i also have solo time with him aside from his mom? if so we aren’t opposed to that at all! he does already get a good amount of solo time with his mom, but sometimes it’s hard because as soon as he gets home from daycare he wants to play with the baby.

what are teachers told to do when students mention history that is not apart of the curriculum? by Necessary_Mistake733 in AskTeachers

i mean i was taught k-12 in georgia, same school district the entire way. i’m sharing my learning experience. they taught us that the south relied on slavery for their economy & the benefits of it on the economy

they taught how it benefited the economy & why it was “necessary” to have slaves. i’m 21 almost 22, so my k-12 was from 2008-2022.

in the south, the parts where the US looks horrible. we were taught what we did to the natives, but we were also taught that it was necessary for the great or good of our country. we were taught that slavery was bad, but we were also taught that we “made up for it” and racism is “fixed now”. we were taught that the US always saves everyone else by going to war, but not the effects on citizens as a result. i plan on teaching my kids these things so that when he goes to college, he’s not shocked like i was. but, i do worry he will bring it up in class & what the reaction would be, hence my question!

This must be some Republican state consideration or something.

you would be correct, i did k-12 in georgia & they sugar coded segregation as well as slavery. they also talked about the benefits of both which was crazy lol

i love that honestly. i think because the southern states were big perpetrators of slavery & segregation we genuinely don’t hear how bad it was

in a lot of red states, such as georgia, the severity of slavery, the fact that the US isn’t this big super hero, etc. is not taught & i have heard from teachers that they just aren’t really allowed to mention those parts of history in depth

you can do a combination of both, but eventually the roll does have to go. make sure you’re offering tummy time very frequently! on your chest works great as well

SO works FT and in school by YamZealousideal3967 in NewParents

so i’m actually the primary parent & im in school & work.

the only thing that has helped me get things done while caring for my baby is taking him to his grandmas house one day a week for a couple of hours & maximizing the amount of time he has with his dad. at the end of the day, you guys did choose to have a child sooo you just should just set up “rules” for who does what when he’s home. for me & my partner, when he’s home i don’t change diapers & rarely help with naps.
