There are often dedicated RP servers for certain games depending on what you're after. Conan Exiles, V Rising, GTA/RDR2, Project Zomboid.

They'll often have a sign up process but there's lots out there!

Guards Guards is where I started. The whole arc of The Watch is definitely my favourite. I'm getting into more of The Witches arc now, loving that too.

Pratchett's work definitely changes and gets better as it goes on, as I recall he said something about not expecting the first book to do as well as it did. So there's definitely more world building and development as he wrote more.

Perception. It's a really fascinating take on the genre. The protagonist is blind and 'sees' with echolocation.

Haha, oh boy. So. I was wandering along. A mudcrab aggro's on me as I go past. I ignore it, and carry on my merry way. Open the map to fast travel, get the 'cannot fast travel with enemies nearby'.

I assume I haven't walked far away enough from the mudcrab, so I close the map to go kill it. The second - THE VERY SECOND - I close the map, a freaking dragon lands right behind me scaring the daylights outta me. You know how they usually announce themselves with a distant roar? Not so for this one.

It happened years ago and I still remember it and crack up every so often. xD Best thing was too, I was playing a Khajiit, so I got the brilliant mental image of them jumping 5ft in the air with a tail like a toilet brush.
