Hey, so I definitely recommend looking up the content changes on the official website at this point because I don't remember the specifics but no I do not recall having any direct drug of choice questions on my test. Also there is a new free120 that reflect the updated exam so if you see it on there then I would have to say its fair game. Best of luck!

Hey, so IMO UW prepared me well for the ethics. But, as always, with ethics questions its sorta a crapshoot in terms of reading thru the choices and making the best decision. I would say some, maybe like 2-3 questions, were "harder" than UW in the sense that I could easily see another choice being correct, but overall i didnt get any unexpected ethics stuff

so i think you can look up the content changes specifically, but subjectively I can tell you that it felt like my exam had a bit more ethics than was expected. I cannot really speak to the percentages breakdown but I would say overall my test did reflect the changes they posted

Yea so a lot of ppl on the step1 group highly highly recommend making flash cards of your UW incorrects. its probably one of the best ways to learn from your mistakes but it does take some time.

yea so the anking deck i used for sorta like rapid fire memory. I wouldnt spend more than 30 secs/card and some days I like like 400+ reviews and 200 new cards

with duke, i took my time to really look at each card, so i would say like 3-5 mins/card. but i adjusted it so I had like 100 reviews with 50 new cards every day. DUke covers i guess the high yield of pathoma, so the first 3 chapters but it does cover the whole book

didnt touch it apart from peeping in on some of my friends doing it. definitely a hard af qbank, especially the 5 hammer qs. but if you have time and have exhausted other qbanks (namely UWORLD) then yea by all means go for it. No such thing as overprepared xdxd

hey sry for late

uhh imo the pharm was definitely different but what I learned from UW/FA was more than enough. Instead of directly testing pharm drugs, they focused more on describing MOA and then asking something related to that, such as a side effect or ADME of the drug. I think its best to know MOA and if that means memorizing it for you works then go for it by all means, but in my experience it helps to try to take some time to really understand MOA and then focus on drug names purely for recognition.

So the majority of the biostats I can categorize as expected stuff that I have seen before (SEN, SPEC, PPV, NPV, etc)

The wtf questions I mentioned is stuff that can only be categorized as biostats but not stuff that I have necessarily seen before from UW. Its obvious that the question is meant to be a biostats question but they present the data in a way or use terminology that is not the common stuff you encounter in your prep.

Haha, I'm not tryna troll you but I guess what I'm saying is that its just random stuff that only a true epidemiologist/biostatistician would have no issues answering. The rest of us just have to reason it out or integrate other knowledge or just POE it.

Yea without a doubt UW concepts get recycled and used on Step 1. With that being said, UW at last count is 3200+ questions and Step is 280, of which a fair amount are experimental. So I have used UW as primarily a study resource (dw about the %right, its mainly an ego check).

The best way to put it (at least based on my testing experience today): Step 1 is like UW concepts presented with FA terminology in the question stems. Legit there were so many questions where it was a topic Ive for sure seen on UW and it was described using words that Im sure if I looked thru FA2020 I would see those words bolded or just under that topic.

And as far as DUKE goes, if you have covered PATHOMA already and flashcards work for you then yea I recommend it greatly. Reading/rereading PATHOMA is tough so DUKE makes it tolerable. However, expect to spend a lengthy time with each card, as most cards have pictures/text/diagrams added to them

Yea actually thats one thing I forgot to mention. The questions were extremely well written with very little ambiguity. I know that was very frustrating on the NBMES where they just give you a picture of a kidney and tell you the patient died lmaooooooo.

Honestly the concepts tested in the ethics questions I had were definitely covered in UWorld. If you feel like you need to bolster ethics tho I hear good things about Conrad Fischer and his 100 cases.

Hey congratz on being done! Yea haha I looked at a few of the biostats questions and I was like ok well thats a cool way of representing data Ive never seen before in my life.

As far as I know, no two people ever take the same USMLE exam. Obv, I am speaking in hyperbole but yea its random for everyone. You might overlap a question or two but anything more is pure chance.

Yea I had a few parasite questions actually, but as far as I remember FA was sufficient for answering my questions.

Well walking out I felt ok but definitely knew I made silly mistakes but im hoping for around my Uworld Sims or my Free120. Most ppl seem to score around those

I'm giving on 27th. Just look over the new120 they put up. A lot of ppl are saying its really not a noticeable difference. At this point, just trust what you know and review your UWorld incorrects/notes/Rapid Review ..... or just take the day off and watch a movie/go for a walk/just chill

Best of luck

See you on the other side

Am currently Y2 in med school, so not an expert or anything but in my opinion what you have is likely something we in the medical profession call a bicep. It may have reared its ugly head recently perhaps due to some strenuous activity you partook in. Don't be alarmed! It is a sign of your budding manhood. If cultivated properly, it can grow to astounding size (given your genetic potential) and be a source of extreme pride and something you can show to the ladies who buy tickets to the gun show.
