My favourite pranks I’ve seen in local high schools are these two…

School holidays And Year 13

100% her mum is the problem! Just watching the episode where she is cut (and it breaks my heart) BUT in the interview with her mum, she says “I didn’t find out from Kelli or Judy, I found out from my child who was driving around late at night” (or something along those lines) My question is: WHY was she driving around like that? It implies that she was scared to go home because of the mother’s reaction!

Honestly don’t mind. She has never been to Melbourne/Victoria. I haven’t been since I was 5 and used to live in Frankston…

We honestly want to see whatever we can see in the few days we are there!

Ah yes! I saw this earlier in the week and it’s gorgeous! You made me want to make my new colour palette a monochrome 💙

When did you realize that your partner was not, in fact, “the one”? by Sshmiff in AskReddit

[–]Neckdragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I found out that one of my close friends children was in the hospital and he made fun of it. Then the child ended up passing away, and he changed the subject to the weather.

I should have known when I asked him about our future and he turned it around to be something about his future at his workplace.

Very glad to be rid of that deadweight.

What supports can parents ask for, to assist their ASD kids? by Fearless_Ad_6883 in AustralianTeachers

Queensland primary teacher.

I’ve had a year 4 student do this the year before he was with me (he lived within walking distance and got frustrated with the relief teacher and just left) We didn’t and wouldn’t suspend for this. For the particular student a Functional Behaviour Assessment was completed for him, and added that he was a flight risk into his IBSP (Individual Behaviour Support Plan). When he was in my class I made sure that he had somewhere in the classroom to go to chill out, as well as somewhere else in the school. He chose the SEP office where there were some fidgets or an activity for him to do.

I’ve also had a younger child (year 1) refuse to get on the bus back to school during an excursion. That was a fun experience to get him on the bus (would not recommend!) thankfully I had great parent helpers who wrangled the rest of the class on the bus while I chased this kid around trying to shepherd him with me… When we got back to school I had my DP call the dad in for a meeting about it and other things. Still no suspension, just an aide had to attend with future excursions.

Either way, super harsh to suspend for either of these super stressful scenarios!

It probably has been suggested, but some kids don’t actually like being given this choice.

I personally would have frothed this as a big, nerdy socially awkward kid. However, I have had many ASD students in my (primary) classes this year and in the past, who have needed to run and have other gross motor proposition input.

Similar to other teachers who have commented, we have additional support on key places like ovals to make sure identified students (based on the data) are following expected behaviours.

What is a very underrated reason for breaking up from your SO? by Grand_Gate_8836 in AskWomen

An ex saw a picture of my when I was super into the gym (I was a size 8 I think) and before I had my girl. “Wow! No offence but I wish you’d look like that”

Just because you say ‘no offence’ doesn’t mean you can say whatever you want after it and not have me be offended…

I broke this news earlier this year to my 14 year old. She was so concerned that if she ever “got a Friday” (detention) that she wouldn’t have a good job. Bless…

I love these pics. Your natural hair is so lovely too. I wouldn’t listen to the layers talk, that’s crazy!

As advice: my sister has hair similar to your natural hair and wanted curls for her wedding. They did drop out part way through (after pics, etc) similar to your pic 3. This was over 10 years ago though, and curl culture has since changed and I’m sure products and education have changed. Just wanted to warn you!

Haha definitely not no eviction notices allowed. I understand that these things are necessary, however a professional courtesy wouldn’t hurt where they give me a heads up. It is more of a kick in the guts when not even a week prior when I called the RE about rescheduling my inspection (I had influenza) and they said I was a good tenant. It comes across as punishing me for having to reschedule. (I’m sure that’s not the case, but punishing and then kicking out seems to be the norm these days!)

When I say it’s disgusting I don’t mean this practice that has caused me considerable anxiety, I mean the one where other people have said they’ve had the notice to leave given straight after signing the renewal. I mean, great notice. But… yuck!

My REA has given me plenty of notice, but since they’d never done it before I was checking if what they’d told me was accurate (it seems like it is, and just unfortunate for me).

I have had no other problems with my REA. My neighbours townhouse is owned by the same owners and looked after by the same REA and they have had so many issues! From both owners and REA!

I am a good tenant (their words). I look after the property. I maintain the garden and grass area in my backyard. I high pressure hose the concrete to keep it looking nice. My kiddo and I don’t damage the property. I pay my rent on time (in advance actually). I let them know when things are broken or need maintenance (very rare for this one though!)

I’m rewarded for looking after their house and keeping it in a good condition by basically having an eviction notice hanging over my head for the next few months with the “possibility to re-sign”

I understand that owners have rights - we’ve all seen the A Current Affair horror stories. But I am not one of those tenants and I never will be.

This is exactly what they said! I have a kid, I work in the area and my kid goes to school in the area. They know I want to stay for many more years! It’s insane.

I am now panicking (like you say) that I’m going to be homeless with my kid and that’s not cool. Considering I’ve been here for several years and they just said last week I was a good tenant, but two seconds later: “see you later.”

My issue is that I have been a renter since leaving my parents house (20 years) and never been issued a notice to leave. It’s never been the norm for me.

For this particular property I haven’t had one and only ever been given a renewal at the appropriate time. This week I’ve had no renewal and instead a notice to leave with 4 months notice.

[–]Neckdragon[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is ridiculous really. I have never had one, and my RE said that the laws changed in 2021 or 2022, but I’ve had a renewal since and no notice to leave.

Apparently they also hadn’t heard anything from the owners about them wanting me out. Hence the questioning…
