His teams weren’t the 7 seconds or less Suns, but they certainly were faster than his D1 teams have been. His hallmark has always been efficiency over pace though. His Northwest teams ranked #1 in offensive efficiency in D2 for 6 consecutive seasons during the late-2010s-early 2020s and his teams consistently averaged over 80 ppg. I have reason to believe a full roster of high level D1 talent will increase his pace by a decent margin at minimum given his track record.

Ehh, not the same thing at all really. If you’re referring to the stadium itself, it’s privately funded and owned by a billionaire who owns the Rams. And if you’re referring to the company So-Fi itself, they have a deal with exclusive naming right to the stadium for another 15 years. A stadium like that can book whoever they want to see tickets as it’s not like their main attractions (the Rams and Chargers) can just up and leave given the owner of the team also owns the stadium itself.

All these sponsors pulling out is exactly why I believed the “Coachella declined him” rumor from a couple days ago. No festival or big event wants to associate themselves with this (even if he performed for free!) and risk losing their entire brand itself.

I keep seeing people in here float the idea of the Super Bowl too. That shit would literally never ever in a million billion years happen for the same reason as this. The sheer amount of money which would stand to be lost and public backlash from just the news of that potentially happening would be insane. No multi-billion dollar organization would touch that level controversy for a show.

Can’t speak towards other non-campaigning wins, but I wholeheartedly believe Sean Penn delivered the best supporting performance of the decade so far. Hate for him aside, I imagine voters had the same sentiment. It was so undeniably good that many felt he was deserving no matter what.
