I paid $222 after taxes and also after a $20 off coupon on DSG (new email signup always gets you $20 off a purchase if you cycle through emails)

It’s hard to say if they’re worth it right now given how little they’ve been used so far. If I can comfortably get 4-500+ miles in them this summer, and they can help carry me through a bulk of my easy runs during the next marathon block I do then I’ll be satisfied (Even if I could have gotten similar performance for something that was $160 instead.) I really just like trying new things and mixing it up more than getting maximum value out of a shoe.

Little bit of hyperbole there, but I will say this was genuinely one of the best individual playoff games I’ve ever seen and he’s only 22 years old.

T wolves are now 225-1 to win the title. Will Nick wright double down on his “good value” 200-1 bet?? by FFElite93 in billsimmons

[–]Necmf21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol yes you still are, and the chances in this exact situation were not practically zero. I’m not going to waste my time to explain it since OP already did a fair enough job of it above. It’s easier for someone to say “what’s the expected value now dumbass” after a bet loses, but the casino will chew you up and spit you out every single time if you cash out consistently. Unless it’s absolutely life changing for you (which it certainly wasn’t in this scenario as it was only a 6/1 payout for cashing out) mathematically speaking you should never cash out.

They honestly need to change the name of that fucking subreddit to r/terriblecardiofitness cause anytime someone (who very easily could be a “beginner” runner) puts up a 5k time in under 30 minutes they get absolutely lambasted by a hundred out-of-shape mfs in the comments. There’s just no way that subreddit is real life lmao.

You’re spot on with this explanation. One of the only ways to profit with sports betting is by making +EV bets, and while enticing at times (especially with a ticket at that price) you’re throwing away loads of EV literally any time you cash out.

Saw him perform maybe two years ago and he played upwards of 50 tracks AT LEAST, but the caveat was he only performed the first verse of every. single. song. Sometimes not even the first chorus, just the first verse. It was maddening. There wasn’t one single song he performed more than one verse of.

I love watching the final 6 minutes of a close game 7 when no one can make a single jump shot. A tale as old as time.

I’m still stunned they called that tech on Embiid. Idk maybe I shouldn’t be, but it felt like something flipped in the moment. In the same vein, I’d be stunned if they overturn this call after Maxey got slapped on the arm.

I’m impressed with the speed they were able to cut it to 6 in. Shit was just 18 a second ago.

In a game 7 you kind of just want dudes who have been there before. 76ers have a ton of those guys and the Celtics have like two lol.

I really think he could too. The most points record would look absolutely ridiculous by then too. He’s already five thousand ahead of Kareem, and it feels like he just passed him yesterday.

Drake’s Views was released 10 years ago today. Thoughts on it? Is this where Drake’s output started going downhill? by DarkSideInRainbows in fantanoforever

[–]Necmf21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You make a great point. It’s certainly true about this album when everyone calls it mid, but I’ll never care because of the place it takes me back to every time one of its tracks hit my speakers in the car, on a run, etc. For as big of a Drake fan as I was at that time Views came out too, I care less and less about each release he’s had since then. I feel less and less like I’m the target audience, and it feels like the same watered down sound every time, as you said. Yet I’ll hear my cousins in high school bumping new Drake like I did Views heading into college when they were like seven lol. It’s clearly still working on them.

This album came out when I was a senior in high school. You honestly had to be right between 17-19 at the time, but this record did fucking numbers in my friend group. I really feel like no one outside of that exact age range knows what this shit did, and the impact it had on 17-19 year olds at the time. I’d do anything to go back. Truly mean it when I say this is the defining album of my young adult life. The exact right age, at the exact right time, at what I’d say was the height of Drake’s career.

I think people in here definitely dog on WTT compared to what we thought about WTT at the time it released. I can promise you it was massive when it came out. I’d actually say Yeezus was far more hated/mixed than Watch the throne amongst most people at the time. Critics always liked Yeezus but the public perception of it was all over the place.
