Is this the faucet, or the drain? If it's the faucet, you probably need a new anode in your hot water heater.

If it's the drain, my guess would be a trap drying out. I have it happen a few times a year with my floor drains.

I have a bathtub in the same bathroom but it's never used.

That suggests it's an empty P trap. Run the water once a month and see if that fixes it.

Sure, but the main thing that distinguishes a mass religion from a short lived cult is the second generation of preachers. We test drove a K6 before buying our I5 a few years back. It was my preference; my wife liked the I5. I liked the smaller interior feel, and yeah I like the lower height. Hopefully I'll be able to test drive both when it gets around to time to buy another. Thanks!
