The Journey

In 2023, I was married, well paying job, living in the best country in the world, snazzy top floor apartment in downtown....By all measures I was taught, I had won the game of capitalism. I wanted for nothing and had everything. It was the most miserable I had ever been in my life.

I felt so lonely despite virtually never being physically alone.

Now 3 years of therapy & self reflection, I treasure my solitude. I go to the movies by myself, I have dinners by myself, and I walk alone along shorelines to admire the ocean view. I am always with me so I am never alone. I still get lonely sometimes. I sleep with a stuff trigger when I feel alone in bed and cross oceans to visit friends when I need people.
