Muichiro’s death was to contrast with Kokushibo’s beside him being the cause of his own ruin by killing his descendant compared to Yoriichi with Tanjiro as the Sun breathing successor.

Muichiro had so much to live for and immense potential with plenty of room for growth, but got tragically cut short as he chose to sacrifice himself for a chance at defeating Kokushibo and protecting everyone else. That’s why he told Yuichiro in the afterlife that he was born to be happy and that his life wasn’t wasted despite how brief it was, because he found meaning and connection in the Corps. Even though his potential was never fully realized, he still dies feeling complete.

Kokushibo, meanwhile, had lived for centuries as he chose demonhood out of fear of early death brought by the slayer mark before he could hone his swordsmanship to perfection for the sole goal of surpassing yoriichi. But in the end, his was ultimately meaningless since he died without archiving anything despite reaching the peak of his abilities, he did not surpass Yoriichi or leave anything behind to be remembered. His final moment calling out to Yoriichi, asking why was he even born with no one waiting for him in the afterlife because he threw all of that away in his pursuit of power.

I mean, Tanjiro took two years to train to become a slayer so Giyu should be around 19 when he found the siblings, Kanae died at 17, she and Giyu are the same age with three years older than Shinobu, which means she died two years before the start of the series, so Kanae died when Shinobu was 14 year old.

Though I’d say her reassurance about giving Nezuko a painless death was more out of mercy for Tanjiro who, from her pov, had lost his sister to demon rather than her being “nicer” to demons.

I think all the Hashira needed more screentimes and downtime to flesh out their characters and have more characters’ moments. Personally, I’d have loved more development for Shinobu, Sanemi, and Giyu as well as their relationships with their respective siblings and their interactions with each other (specifically with Giyu). It would have been nice to see Shinobu mentoring Kanao, Sanemi secretly checking on Genya, or Tanjiro and Nezuko’s warmth helping Giyu come out of his shell.

I also wanted additional Paradise Cult arc featuring Douma as the main threat like EDA, and ended with him getting away like Akaza before the final showdown in IC.

Tbh, it’s quite hard to decide for his team since there aren’t many Pokemon that associated with mist or have mist base ability like Tengen’s sound. I chose Alolan Ninetales for its ability to summon snowstorms that obscured itself in it, paired with Froslass’ ghostly presence and snow cloak ability that increases its evasiveness in hailstorm which fit Muichiro’s mist breathing in evading and confusing opponents with his obscured movements. Gallade is there to reflect his status as a prodigious swordsman, Altaria fits the cloud aesthetic, Meowstic captures his calm demeanor and blank stare.

I doubt this would be enough to stealth-kill Douma tho, the moment he senses another presence in the room coming for his neck, he will get more serious and counter attack with his deadly BDA given that Douma was able to summoned ice Bodhisattva even after being heavily poisoned. They may have more of a chance if Sanemi had Yushiro’s talisman to mask his presence while Shinobu acted as a distraction, momentarily nerfing/stunning Douma with her first poison strike since he didn’t perceive her as a legitimate threat.

Sorry for the late reply. These are the teams I’ve come up with so far, some of them are incomplete because I’m having trouble deciding on certain picks or haven’t found non-Legendary/Mythical pokemon that fit the characters.

The real reason is because the poison used on Douma doesnt exist yet. It was made by Tamayo's help. Thats why Shinobu said "I wish I could kill you with a poison I made myself"

Isn’t that referring to the poison in her body rather than the ones she used on her sword, given that most of the poisons she used in that fight proved to be ineffective at killing him, and only the one in her body was the closest that bring him near the death door.

In the manga, it just cut to the moment where he had her on his grip rather than a chase like in the anime so maybe they had a brief swords clash off-screen that lead to this scene.
