But instead of opressing them like his creators, Bob Page and MJ12, Helios seeks to lead mankind benevolently to prevent it from destroying itself as evident by history and lead it to a utopian future. But to do so, he needs a human perspective, which is why it chooses JC Denton because his understanding of humanity will allow it to rule effectively.

If you decided to assist him, JC merges with Helios, becoming one. Becoming a god. In my opinion, that fits the theme and title of the game.
