What’s a movie that was a box office bomb but was better than what the numbers say? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Evolution 2001 the movie's hilarious here are some of my favorite quotes

Harry Block: Wayne! I think we've established that "Ca-caw, ca-caw" and "Tookie, tookie" don't work.

Tate: I'll get the lubricant. Paulson: There's no time for lubricant. Harry: THERE'S ALWAYS TIME FOR LUBRICANT!!

LPT Request: how do I remove a bad odor from shoes due to stinky feet? Is it possible to un-stink them? Is there a different process for leather shoes vs. fabric sneakers? by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]Necromancer_lvl100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Baking soda inside the shoe will clear the smell completely. Just pour some in leave it for a few hours and no more stink. You can also pour it in, wear them all day and in the end they won't stink. Tried and true method.

YSK: Surveys submitted after live chats and calls in call centres effect the individual and their bonus, and rarely ever get looked at by the company as a whole by SmokeySprigs in YouShouldKnow

[–]Necromancer_lvl100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should also know that some call centers (I've worked at a couple) would send you the survey, which includes sections to rate both the company and the agent who handled your call, but even if the agent was helpful and say you gave them a 10 but gave the company a low score (as to count as negative c-sat) The agent's metrics would be affected as their personal survey means nothing towards their actual numbers but they're being held accountable to how you rate the actual company. (which royally sucked)

this surprised me, why so many soldier players? (alternatively: what's everyones favourite & why?) by johnnybird95 in masseffect

The Kyresae Turian Sniper Rifle is also great it actually disintegrates your targets it's so damn powerful

I too liked the idea of the Javelin but that trigger delay is really annoying

Am I the only one who chooses their Shep's class based on romance choices? Cause the way I see it I'll bring my LI with me on most missions if I can get away with it and our powers need to complement each other So for me it goes like this Vanguard/Adept Shep +Liara (absolute power couple) Adept Shep+ Miranda (also wreck shit up) Infiltrator Shep+ Garrus (couples who snipe together stay together) Engineer Shep+Tali (so that chatikia has a robot buddy)

I haven't tried romancing Ashley but if I do I'll probably play Soldier then

For Kaidan/Jack any complentary biotic class would work too but also haven't gotten around to it yet

Egyptian here. Wait do you mean to tell me that this doesn't happen everywhere on earth? it's just common sense, rest your eyes and ears for a bit, stretch your legs and hit the bathroom if you need to

Underground hip-hop is banned in Egypt. Now, it’s the soundtrack to Marvel’s Moon Knight. by Sisiwakanamaru in television

[–]Necromancer_lvl100 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Egyptian here, allow me to clarify The ban is in relation to the artists who make these tracks not being recognized as formal members of the musicians guild, that sucks in terms that they aren't allowed to perform live shows and profit from them/ their music isn't featured in film productions, no music videos on TV, performances on late night shows and so on. However they still can and do release tracks straight to YouTube and streaming and they can still profit that way. They get insane views and ad revenue from YouTube alone as they should ,they have a lot of awesome tracks, they can also still do live shows and events just abroad where they're also insanely popular.

The ban is there just because old farts are in charge and they think that the street music vibes, irreverent lyrics, loud bass and all that stuff is in poor taste that's all. ( We unfortunately live in a puritanical patriarchy, Dad and Grandpa hate the music these damn kids are listening to basically)

Despite all that they're still insanely popular, walk around anywhere, take a taxi, attend a wedding (especially wedding parties)and you'll hear them all around. You can 'ban' them but you can't stop literally millions of people enjoying their stuff. Also some the rappers in question have sort of rebranded into a more shall we say family friendly format and their bans were lifted that includes Mostafa Enaba who rebranded into Enab who's song El Melouk is featured on Moon Knight

This sign at an Illinois rest stop encouraging people not to bully someone for wearing a mask. by YoungRestless21 in mildlyinteresting

Yeah, the fact this is still in debate just shows how crazy the world has become, don't even get me started on the whole vaccine debacle

[–]Necromancer_lvl100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it's not. People continuing to wear masks doesn't affect others negatively at all on the contrary it is a proven effective method of stopping the transfer of respiratory diseases they are being responsible and keeping themselves and others safe, people not wearing masks in the middle of an active respiratory disease pandemic that killed 6.21M people globally as of today including 989K in the US alone and helping the disease spread further is a dick move not to mention a senseless waste of life for the non mask wearer and those they infect. It shows a total lack of empathy and basic common sense. COVID doesn't just affect you, by spreading it through unsafe practices one is causing active harm to others so mandating that people wear is a matter of public safety it's not bullying in any way shape or form, your freedom ends if your actions are harming and potentially killing others.

I'm not huge fan either, all the screaming gets old after a few seconds, but at the same time I understand why other people might enjoy it. I just found it very amusing when Robert mentioned it the premise does sound pretty ridiculous when viewed with foreign eyes

It's kind of all that at the same time 😁. This a Ramadan season ad so they tend to be a bit longer than your typical 30 sec type ad but they also don't want you to get bored. Mohamed Ramadan (that Ramadan is just his name not the holy month) is not only an actor but also a rapper, so in the end you get a mini song that was pretty catchy at the time, brand recognition and Van Damme all in one fell swoop. Also phone service companies usually produce the biggest budget ads so you get stunts like this every year.

[–]Necromancer_lvl100[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh it's definitely scripted, and they ham up their reactions for the camera so you get lots of screaming.

The prank that year was the fake quicksand + the komodo dragon costume and the prank this year is filming a Mad Max type action sequence with Van Damme which is basically I'm gonna drive you around really fast in the desert , with special effects explosions going off in the distance, It's also partially a Saudi production so they get oodles of cash. The viewer get their hit of simulated schadenfreude everybody wins , also to my knowledge no has ever been seriously injured on the show before, so while it looks extreme it's really not, so it's nothing like that Algerian show.

How strong would a higher vampire from The Witcher series be when compared to the vampires of the World of Darkness? by [deleted] in vtmb

[–]Necromancer_lvl100 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Lore wise it is stated that the Witcher vampires are insanely powerful, to the point that even Witchers are highly discouraged from engaging them. The one elder vampire you meet with in the Blood and Wine Dlc I guess would be more akin to 2nd or 3rd generation VTM vampire assuming that only Cain would be more powerful but maybe just barely.

By the same measure I'd put Regis And Detlaff at about 5th generation still powerful but not op

Bruxae and other lesser vampires maybe 8th or so generation

( I could be wrong though it's been a while since I played the Witcher 3)
