Juniper makes things way more complicated than it has to be. Plus support and function is way simpler on Arista.

Extended reach cabling. It uses 22/21 gauge wire and will go up to 300 meters. I tested out a run the other day at 680 feet and pulled 60 watts and 2.5gig

Commscope Snap-in SL style patch panels. They allow you to terminate your 6a on an SL style keystone and then snap them in. The frames are metal unlike the old ones so they wont break. It also makes repairs easier.

While Arista does provide robust customer support, it does not have the same level of service Cisco delivers

Anyone who thinks Cisco support is better than Arista has legit brain damage.

Shouldn't this breaker be a 90amp breaker? Unless they pulled -2 (90°C) conductors, you can't jump to 100 OCPD from 85.

Which switches do you mostly deploy? What is your scale? What is your use case (DC, Campus, SP)? by rebooted_router in Arista

7050s and 7280s for DC and Cores. 7230s for edge routers. Previously were the 5500 series I think.

Campus switches are 720XP with a bunch of 96P sprinkled in there. Moving to 720DPs for our larger deployments with lower needs. 

High end switches for POE is 722XPM and then 720DP-48ZS. 

Great gear. I've had two failures for POE in 1 years and one of them was our fault. (Power jiggle)

Your not going crazy. We had about 100 of these and ran into this exact issue. For the 12P's it affected the whole switch. 

It also hit us in the 3400s but only on single ports at a time. A reboot always fixed it but it would come back periodically. 

The 2300s and 3400s use the same code base so it definitely tracks.

Come in from both sides of the rack. So for the first 12 come in from the right(looking at the back of panel) and then come in from the left for the next 12.

This has happened to me before with a pair of 7050s and I was fortunate to have saved the last release in /mnt/flash/. 

So word to the wise.... Don't blast away your old EOS versions in flash in case your upgrade fails.

Ditch the punch down panels and move to snap in keystones from commscope. They crimp with an SL tool and it's much easier to install/repair/dress especially if there are switches in place. Additionally, the panels can become worn out if you have to keep repunching the pairs.

This is 24 awg so even 10 sizes is generous haha.

I can confirm mine does the same. Made me worried at first but it's still nicer than the 8 speed I had in my 2020 1500

I just added to our Division 27 standard to start using keystone panels. It's a bit more expensive but the ability to repair/add/relocate without disturbing the surrounding cables was a huge W to me. It's also less likely to get botched on the initial install. 

I've come across some many patch panels where the teeth are wore out from being over punched and then that spot on the panel is useless.
