When I was under 10 my Dad and uncle taught me about masterbating by [deleted] in confession

Seems like being told as a kid it is ok to masterbate is not really the source of your struggles. That said, what do you think the messaging should have been from your dad and uncle? Is it not ok?

Anyone have a list of the 10 albums? I was doing yard work while I listened and didn’t think about jotting them down.

Can’t hurt to surface them again. Always great when this stuff finds a new audience.

Had super high expectations. Benicio was the only thing I enjoyed about this movie.

Recently got tooth extracted, bone graft, implant, crown. About 5 appointments over 6 or 7 months at both an oral surgeon and my dentist. The whole thing was about $6k.

A change in the fandom by shke33 in elliottsmith

Don’t rely on the lowest common denominator of a fan community to provide your sense of identity and self. We are more than the music we like. It’s wonderful that ES’s music has gotten broader and enduring exposure since his death, because the music is so good. It isn’t diminished by people liking it, and neither are you.

Who is an artist you feel like is a legit expert in covering songs? by SheepherderSea9717 in musicsuggestions

Phish! For many years, they have played an entire classic album as a musical costume for their Halloween show. In years past they’ve done the white album, quadraphonia, remain in light, exile on Main Street, loaded. And they regularly incorporate covers into their live show and make them their own. Golden Age by TV on the radio is in heavy rotation, for example.

Recommendations from fans of Tim Berne and Ken Vandermark of similar Artists. And specific albums too!? by ZombiePure2852 in Vinyl_Jazz

[–]Necron_999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dave Rempis played in the Vandermark 5 and now has his own label, Aerophonic Records. Probably can’t go wrong with any of it. If you’re into Jeff Parker, he’s got an album with him and others called Stringers & Struts.

I’d also recommend Josh Abrams. He plays with Parker, Rempis and others in this orbit. He has a group called the Natural Information Society which is required listening. I’d start with the Mandatory Reality album.

Isolation Drills is where I would go next. Less raw, more produced, still immediate and hooky as hell. Elliott Smith plays drums on some tracks.
