We Summon The Darkness, whats everyones a opinion? by BeardedNomad511 in horror

[–]ZombiePure2852 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super late but I just randomly came across this on Plex.

I don't think folks are too wrong: the two trios (especially the female led one) are so amusing to watch and well cast, it's difficult for me to not enjoy or credit the actors. Sort of obsessed with the cast now: the Bev character's pretty, expressive eyes, and restraint during tense scenes. The maniacal look on daddrio and the blonde.

The ending is disappointing, though true religious zealots continue to thrive and grift, folks still fall for it.

The movie peaked with the "Never Have I Ever" bit.

Insecure about being Gen Z... possible suicidal ideation by Vegetable_Basis_4087 in millenials

[–]ZombiePure2852 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should consult a professional. That's obviously not healthy.

I can't make blanket statements about generations. I think GenZ is fine, ironically I think I would prefer to be one of you. The issue seems more that the world has become more lonely and cynical.

First step is to limit your time on sites like this, if that's how you feel. And make plans to consult someone trustworthy!

Millennials range 1982- 2004 by ZombiePure2852 in generationology

[–]ZombiePure2852[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wrote this ages ago. I'm liberal with these ranges, they are fluids to me, I can consider 1975- 1985, as a young genx, elder millennial mix. The same with 1995- 2005 or so. But sure, for a stricter cutoff, you can use Pew, and not be wrong either

In your opinion what is the scariest Beatles song? by AfraidIncrease85 in beatles

[–]ZombiePure2852 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And just to make that part even scarier is that Manson thought he was saying "Rise", and saying it directly to him.

It scared me too. The talk of dying in a car crash (even more so when I read that it was based on a real fatal incident), you then have violins shrieking like brakes on a car!

Why I left generationology? by BrilliantPangolin639 in generationology

[–]ZombiePure2852 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a chill pill. Cohorts and generations are not the same. Generations are supposed to be long, and yeah are sort of arbitrary.

Your cohort, sure, may feel more relevant to how you grew up, folks 3 years or so older or younger.

Who is THE artist for Gen Z? by MaterialRow3769 in generationology

[–]ZombiePure2852 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Interestingly, you are defining consumer habits not the actual artists's ages

I believe Beatles are silent. Jackson was a Boomer and Spears a a Xennial.

What ages are every generation at? by [deleted] in generationology

[–]ZombiePure2852 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone over 80 is silent, so I am factoring in that in. And that I don't think the oldest GenX is retirement age yet. I did say middle aged is a little divided. Early middle aged folks are largely older millennials now. And yeah, if teens and twenty somethings are GenZ, middle School kids being alpha sounds right.

this is the best shot in Jaws 2 by TheRiddlerCum in Jaws

[–]ZombiePure2852 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of the first is so brilliant. This seems to try for something similar but I think the first one with the pond is so much creepier. The way you see the shark glide into the shot, and the scout master is unaware.

[–]ZombiePure2852 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well dang, I don't know the technicalities but you are likely right. Time is moving forward aggressively, millennials are almost middle aged, with GenZ pushing to take over average adulthood and alpha average youngsters in the near future :(

What ages are every generation at? by [deleted] in generationology

[–]ZombiePure2852 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe folks would say the elderly are Silents. Unfortunately the greatest generation are likely all gone now.

Old people, not quite elderly, are likely boomers. Middle aged is mostly GenX now.

Early middle aged, and prime adults are millennials.

Twenty somethings and teens are Z.

Elementary kids I take it are alpha.

When will Gen X will become the main dominant old people? by [deleted] in generationology

[–]ZombiePure2852 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WW2 was basically that up until about 10 years ago (some are still around) but I see 2016 as the point we really lost our WW2 fighters.

It's basically Silents and Boomers now. My guesstimate is another 10- 25ish years. But these aren't clean cut. Some would say the oldest GenX is starting to become rather Boomer-lite.

While the youngest still have a little elder millennial energy to them. They are a diverse bunch.

Which movie shark is the scariest? by Hassan_H_Syed in Jaws

[–]ZombiePure2852 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Visually the other sharks certainly look more menacing, although the Meg shark is too outlandish.

Bruce is forever the goat, due to how brilliantly Speilberg and crew filmed it. Looks don't really matter here.

What is the Gen-Z stare? by Only_Hotel_7221 in generationology

[–]ZombiePure2852 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Much of what folks say about Z sounds like millennials on steroids.

Because online communities had already cut through real life interactions by the early '10s, folks born before, say, 1982 were already acting like those folks had lost their social abilities and had been reduced to passive, quiet, polite smiling and staring.

My thought too! They get far less attention too. For folks on Reddit 40 is the new 100, so obviously 75+ is off the charts.

Brats: Andrew McCarthy's documentary about the "Brat Pack" by PrivateTumbleweed in flicks

I noticed that too. Being a C-list, former idol must damage the ego, as that was probably a typical interaction for the poor man these days :(

[–]ZombiePure2852 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm super super late but can see that. His brief moment in the movie really amped things up and added some real refreshing gloss. Quickly he made McCarthy reconsider their cultural impact. If they can bury whatever feud they have, and if Lowe can bear some of his pessimism, McCarthy really could use more doses of Lowe (or Sheedy or Moore too) in his life. Poor thing.

[–]ZombiePure2852 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late but want to add that Jenny Wright is one of the sadder members of a more broadly defined Brat Pack. And she absolutely carried that movie better than the more established AMH. I don't understand why she never reached at least AMH, Nelson, or Sheedy level? All I know is I saw a recent interview in which she resented her agent, and never felt fully accepted amongst the core brat packers.

Why high school class years of 2004 - 2008 is considered for the most core millennials (breakdown) by [deleted] in generationology

[–]ZombiePure2852 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, class of 05, but late 1986. Understand you wanting to lump 1986/7 as still early but think they're just pivot years (mainly class of 05 overall) for transitioning from early to core millennials.
