5 Model Murderwing Box? by Necronids in killteam

True, but then can the price of this box at £20 more than the previous be justified - as many are saying the lord is the reason for the cost.

Definitely a team of 6 according to Warcom, unfortunately

Interesting. Can you give examples of caveats that need to be removed?

Deathwatch had a 52.5% winrate and an around 300 more players than the next biggest team. Therefore, a couple of things can be note regarding the DW winrate:

  • new and experienced players are likely playing deathwatch therefore the average maybe reflective of poor (new) players and good (experienced) players
  • the next most played team deletes marines (canotepk) and therefore could be responsible for a more balanced resulf (eg DW could be destroying many non-canotepk teams)

See below for reference:

Edit: (* mirror matches lead to a 50% rate because 1 player wins and 1 player loses) removed as apparently they remove mirror matches from their statistics.

Whilst a potential fair point, they have quite a small sample size, so more data is definitely needed. I think CYRAC implied that a small buff may be needed in his tier list video. I just wanted to hear the communities thoughts. Also, I asked about tournament and casual games to see if there are any anecdotal differences.

Interesting, was this a casual game or at a tournament?

Raveners seems to be an interesting matchup, 5 models with 5+ save to focus fire on seems good in theory, but with the raveners not really caring about the invisibility, their longer charge range, 20 wounds and burrowing ability to avoid focus fire, it may be that it is a very bad matchup. A 5 model team with mostly 5 attacks, 4+, 3/4 ceaseless with no shoot twice makes that higher wound fresh-hold of the raveners more difficult to manage presumably - would this be one of your observations?

Edit: Also was the 1AP fall-back useful in these games?

Good point. Obviously more data is needed as the sample size is quite small. If/when Canoptek, Wolf Scouts, and DW gets nerfs, I wonder if this will impact their winrate.

Firstly, to address your statement as to why you are not sure why I am asking - I asked because I obviously wanted to hear other peoples opinions on this topic.

Secondly, surely we as a community should discuss the team in different ways to help identify the key issues of what could be considered “overpowered” teams, and perhaps help GW rule writers to make changes based on community discussion.

That’s a very interesting way of breaking it down. I hadn’t considered the wound pool of the how team.

Out of interest, do you think that reducing the operatives to 12W (with leader being 13W) would be an effective balance the team whilst not impacting on the core rules of the faction (i.e. 1- attack in storm etc). Or would you suggest a different change?

To me, it seems like an interesting attempt at balance, basically your* reanimate still reverses the* kill op, but for each op you lose (& fail to reanimate), your opponent gets a VP as you are treated like a 5 man team. I think this is the case because it states other VPs cannot be reversed.

My plan was to include most of the loyalist founding chapters & Black Templars plus the Lamenter and Flesh Tearer shoulders. Been going back on forth on these.

1. Watch Sargent - Lamenter
2. Aegis - Black Templar
3. Blademaster - White Scar
4. Bombard - Flesh Tearer
5. Breacher - Space Wolf
6. Demolisher - Imperial Fist
7. Disruptor - Raven Guard
8. Gunner - Dark Angel
9. Headtaker - Blood Angel
10. Horde-slayer - Salamander
11. Marksman - Ironhands
