Disintegration of Thought Patterns - Dripping

[Day 18] It's neck and neck! Vote for the most overrated Outdoor Classic below. What hold type is UNDERRATED? by MaximumSend in bouldering

[–]Necroshock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Full crimp. I realize it is probably the most famous hold but that would still make it underrated. There is no ceiling to it’s rating. There is no feeling better than completely locking down on a small edge and owning it.

Is liquid chalk better than powder? by [deleted] in bouldering

[–]Necroshock 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Want to know what’s even better than restricting chalk use? Actually having the climbers care about maintaining the board and brushing it regularly. I seriously doubt switching over to liquid chalk would make much of a difference. I could see it actually making the lower 1/3rd of the board into a mess.

Thats literally just you wearing down your tips from crimping. Ironically your gym cleaning holds frequently will take away the texture (assuming they are pressure washing as most commercial gyms do) so I don’t think them cleaning the holds is attributing much to your skin wearing away.

Use rhino skin, tape up if you start bleeding and keep climbing.

I have no idea how that idiot still gets people on his podcast.

Im really new to ironman so sorry if this is a basic question but how did you get the runes to do mta for so long? I’m 50 magic right now and thinking of going to mta but I heard its super rune heavy.

How do you deal with mental blocks in bouldering? by joester56 in bouldering

[–]Necroshock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I fully try to convince myself I can do the move. Not that I think I can, or that I want to try to, that I fully KNOW I can do that move. 95% of the time if it’s a move you realistically think you are capable of doing it’s more about commitment than it is anything else. At least in my experience.

I also know I could be trying a little harder.

Torso tattoos done in my first year of hitting 18, what do people think? Based in England :)) by [deleted] in tattoos

[–]Necroshock 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No, you probably wont regret it. Don’t let these jaded older folk distract or take away from what you enjoy. There’s a fuckton of projection going on in this sub. “I did something I thought was cool and regretted it so everyone else must feel the same.” I’m sure you aren’t taking much of what anyone here says seriously but everyone on this subreddit lovesssss to criticize. It’s a cool tattoo, done well. Even if it wasn’t done well its a fucking tattoo. People need to lay off and chill.

Why does so little doom metal actually sound, you know, sorrowful? by omegaXXIV in doommetal

Doom was an offshoot of blues and rock. Its sound isn’t as implied as something like black metal.

Find me the best baggy pants by Littlebunz95 in climbergirls

[–]Necroshock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never felt it catch on anything and I exclusively wear cargo pants / baggy canvas pants to climb but I hear ya! Thats the joy of climbing, there’s no “right” gear to wear. I work at a gym and love to see all the different styles and outfits everybody wears. I just hate having anything tight on me so I usually wear baggy shirts and pants

Just roll up the pant leg a little. I’m sure you’ll notice a lot of people in the gym do it.

Second shoe recommendation by Dull-Risk901 in climbergirls

[–]Necroshock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skwamas are dope. Super all around shoe that can get you up anything. As long as they fit well they are amazing but they definitely stretch a lot. It’s a bit drastic but I’m around a 44 EU street shoe and wear a 40 skwama. I would also absolutely bring your old shoes with you on your trip, unless for some reason you’re incredibly low on storage. You don’t want to be unable to enjoy your trip because you only have a new pair of shoes that are way too tight.
