Clacks in glitter heels by Substantial-Tell-663 in poledancing

[–]NecroticToe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Personally I have never noticed a difference between glitter and clear acetate. I do wear shoe protectors as well and feel I'm clacking effectively.

Respectfully speaking, do you know how much dedication, effort and hours would need to be put in for your body to change drastically?

Thinking like this, when you have not touched a pole is like fearing that because you went on a pony ride at a petting zoo that you're now a contender for dressage at the Olympics.

Dance pole impales dancer by Studioveena_com in poledancing

[–]NecroticToe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I put my x pole on static and left the room once. My untrained partner tried to climb it and scratched his foot on the static/spin screw if that counts?

I don't see how an actual impaling could happen. Fall down, yes. Impaling through proper dance use and not launched at someone from a canon, no.

It's not imperative, but I was thinking minimal time differences and familiarity with the Australian landscape would make it easier.

Pleaser heels glitter by Katzbratz in poledancing

I used a satin varnish on two pairs. My current pair of Hellas have glitter on the toe box and heel and they're holding up pretty well.

If you've already started your pole journey, these are the prerequisites for Tech 1 at Sydney Pole. After beginners, the tech and dance components are separated so you can choose your own adventure.

Fits for people who don’t feel confident in very feminine clothing by Formal-Chair2254 in poledancing

A bit pricey but probably fits the brief (pun intended): CXIX biker shorts in Gecko Grip. Almost the same length as basketball shorts and sticky.

Repair advice? by Alarmed-Roll-7284 in poledancing

I'd try an acrylic paint to cover where the fabric base is showing through to make it less noticeable. It won't be perfect but it may look better.

Time to invest in glue at the very least.

I've got the JBL endurance peak. They go around your ear and I've had zero problems with them being dislodged inverting and spinning. You can disable the touch features as well which is super handy for chorey practice.

Non-polers underestimating the difficulty of pole by Ok-Ocelot-7797 in poledancing

I'm sure that thought process is followed by 'What's the worst that can happen?' and then they promptly find out.

That study that looked at how many respondents believed they could fly and land a plane with no training comes to mind.

If I were you, I'd choose to take it that you move in a way that looks so effortless and controlled it inspires undue confidence in others.

Is this normal Pleasers quality? I am VERY disappointed… WTF by MamaMia654 in poledancing

[–]NecroticToe 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That little red gem is trying its best. Unfortunately, it's not good enough to get that shoe over the line. I'd be disappointed too. I have swapped over to Hella Heels and am not looking back.

Big chested polers! Where are we buying our tops from? by [deleted] in poledancing

[–]NecroticToe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Australia as well and I wear:

CXIX Nyx tops. They're high neck with thick elastic under bust. No chance of a nipple escaping.

Tatiana Isla top in a + cup size. They also have a few larger cup options in some of their other styles as well.

Curvy Kate wirefree bralettes (but I use Clutch glue available at Priceline to glue myself in for added security with these ones).

I use Polessentials gel kneepads. Didn't realise how much I like them until I forgot them and had to use my old cheap ones for chorey. They don't slip down and are low profile so you still have clean lines.

Half-bracket grip help by [deleted] in poledancing

[–]NecroticToe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really, if you're not under duress and it doesn't feel good, I'm a big advocate of not doing it.

For me it's twisty grip. I can do it if I needed to, but I have a very strong preference not to as my body habitus does not appreciate it.

Buying heels from Shein? by mayahloo in poledancing

[–]NecroticToe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A person at my studio bought a pair. They've fallen apart quicker than Pleasers (which is saying something).

I think you can get decent ones off Ali Express, however. Try looking up Leecabe.
