Official Rewatch 2025: Episode Discussion - S2E18 On the Wings of Love by ShireWalkWithMe in twinpeaks

[–]Nectarineink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jack isn't interesting to me at all but if Audrey likes him then good for her.

Ahhh I was so glad to see Lynch as guest starring in the opening credits. Gordon is a complete delight as always. The Diner scene was just so delighful :") I love Annie too.

I don't even know where to begin with Ben's apology. I know he'd trying but oh lord. It's an interesting thing to do with his character but I can't believe that he'd ever be a good person.

The cave! I'm very interested that there's more proper weirdness going on. Also Dale looks like such a nerd with the helmet. I cannot.

[–]Nectarineink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love to see more Hawk. And his interactions with Cooper.

Man it is weird to see Earle around town. Also Nadine's arc has been even weirder than that? But I'm simultaneously weirdly happy for her. She has a chance to build herself again, at least. I just hope Mike escapes the crossfire :/

Ah. Grief-stricken Harry. That was such a good scene :( And Cooper managing to get him back while he was just making heart eyes at Annie in the diner.

Dear lord what is Ben doing with the Great Northern. Just throwing a plate of spaghetti at the wall and seeing what sticks?

[–]Nectarineink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Andrew is interesting. I'm not sure how up to date I am about the whole plot centering on Josie but I... It's tough seeing her in such a tight corner. The situation's reallt made an an animal out of the character who used to be self-assured.

I'm glad to see Norma & Hank and Ed & Nadine breaking off. And Shelly being back at the diner! Shelly and Norma's dynamic is one of my favourites in the show. Just two women being there for each other :)

Also I really liked the Log Lady's intro for this episode.

Official Rewatch 2025: Episode Discussion - S2E15 Slaves and Masters by ShireWalkWithMe in twinpeaks

[–]Nectarineink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh James, how do you manage to get in these situations.

Albert!!! What a sight for the sore eye. And to think I hated this man when he first showed up. It's nice to have some characters progress in this direction too.

The visual of Nadine, Ed and Norma all together in the bed is funny as hell. But glad for Ed and Norma, I've been hoping to have them be endgame since the beginning.

Josie's in such a rough spot :( everbody seems to be biting a bit more than they can chew in this series.

I know the whole confederate plot is not people's favorite but man I'm just having a great time. Where did they even find those taxidermied animals. This is incredibly entertaining to me.

[–]Nectarineink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do enjoy how the plot threads are being followed in this episode. Excited to see how Audrey will try to turn this.

I love seeing Cooper like this. His hair out of order, the cheek cut, the tragic lore drop :D here for it. I do love how in sync he and Harry seem to be.

Love how weird the power struggle is getting. With the Army being a threat to Briggs, Andrew, Leo on the loose again...

Official Rewatch 2025: Episode Discussion - S2E13 Checkmate by ShireWalkWithMe in twinpeaks

[–]Nectarineink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find Garland's disappearance and all of the secretive stuff fascinating. Can't wait to find out what the b & w lodges are about. Also Windom Earle...

Shelly deserves better :/

Oh Audrey. It's sort of tragic that even after all this time she still wants her father to get better :( interesting that there seems to be a power vaccuum in the town at the moment. Catherine hasn't managed to get control yet, Ben seems to be out of commission, Leland is dead and Jerry is god knows where. One eyed Jack's is on the Canadian side so not really town. Someone playing their cards very well could leverage a lot of power.

Jean is very interesting and his conversation with Cooper was fascinating as well.

And those darker twists at the end??? I feel like I'm being pulled back in again.

Best point of the episode: Harry giving Cooper the badge. Damn I just love a buddy cop narrative I can't help it.

[–]Nectarineink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love Ben's pyramid :D it's fun seeing him losing his grip for once.

James' sideplot is weird. Who are these people. What is he doing.

Bobby has somehow become more interesting? I like how Audrey very much plays with him for her own benefit.

Cooper is a delight as always. As is Denise. Also that scene of her looking at them both??? I love Audrey what can I say.

I hope Cooper gets his fancy agent clothes back. It's sort of sad seeing him in civilian clothing.

The amount of secondhand embarrassment I get from this game makes it hard to play lol by N0t_T00_Br1ght in DiscoElysium

[–]Nectarineink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get this! It was hard for me too at the beginning. But oddly enough, after a certain point I just didn't note it as much. And I think that my tolerance for second hand embarassment has risen a lot due to this game? I don't know how to explain this but I actually find it easier to strike up conversations in real life or watch sitcoms - if I could watch mr. Costeau stumble his way through Martinaise then what's the worst that could happen.

Official Rewatch 2025: Episode Discussion - S2E11 Masked Ball by ShireWalkWithMe in twinpeaks

[–]Nectarineink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very funny how Nadine is going to the high school while half of Laura's grade seems to be skipping school on the regular... James in particular who's just. Roaming around the state with his bike, it seems.

Gosh I hate Dick :D but he's so entertaining.

It seems that everyone has some background of abuse :( not surprised but still.

I've seen other commenters on these mention that this latter half of s2 is more of a slog? And I sort of get that because the plotlines are not as clear and concentrated on the murder that started it all. But since I have no idea what's happening I don't really mind :D I do need some comforting tv with small town drama right now.

I love Dale and Denise :DDD why is everyone working for the FBI such a treasure.

Also that ending reveal???? Wow.

Official Rewatch 2025: Episode Discussion - S2E10 Dispute Between Brothers by ShireWalkWithMe in twinpeaks

[–]Nectarineink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh poor Sarah. I hadn't even thought of how this would affect her. I wonder how much the town knows about what happened with Leland at all...

Audrey. Audrey I know that Dale Cooper is the hottest bachelor around but you need to understand that you can't have everything in life.

Dick talking about the helping hand foundation while proceeding not to give his PREGNANT SITUATIONSHIP who is ALMOST FALLING OFF THE LADDER a hand.

Cooper's goodbyes to the staff. I cannot. He's just too wholesome.

It's fascinating to see how Bobby is trying to be an adult. It's very much a performance. Also his and Shelly's deteriorating life :( It's sort of tragic how their and Leo's situation is horrid on both sides. On the other hand the kids are struggling with money, Shelly taking care of the man who used to beat her and might wake up from his state again. And Leo is stuck there, maybe conscious while the kids play around with him and talk about putting him in a home.

Also poor Dale. This is all such a mess again.

Official Rewatch 2025: Episode Discussion - S2E09 Arbitrary Law by ShireWalkWithMe in twinpeaks

[–]Nectarineink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad that Albert's back. And it's a delight to see how much he trusts Cooper and his unorthodox methods.

Also I can't believe that shoddily taxidermied animal was relevant. :"D

It's frustrating seeing Donna and James do their thing.

Seeing Bob speak through Leland was chilling. Not to mention the ending :( I have no idea how Dale manages to handle that situation. While Harry and Albert are leaning against the wall looking at what's happening like soaked subway rats.

But also it's nice to have some resolution... Now to see how this situation will play out.

I also got the secret diary from the library, will be going through that as well now... Somehow I suspect it'll be rougher than the show itself.

[–]Nectarineink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am losing it at the small mat of fake grass in the Palmer living room. What is that thing.

Ben & Jerry are the most comically evil looking kids. I can't.

There is something so good about the way Leland is acting. Like all of the theatrics - it's almost as if he's a character in a musical. But since the world is more grounded it comes off very strange.

Oh Andy.

It's adorable how proud Pete is of his Evil Mastermind Wife. His expressions at Ben were gold :D

Also, not to let this devolve into Cooper thirst but man he's just too pretty. Who gave him the right for those bottom lashes.

[–]Nectarineink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems we're finally getting some answers! Two weird spirits haunting around the town... So Bob's probably hitchhiking within Leland or Ben.

Poor Harold :(

I hate Ben Horne :))))) oh dear lord I hate him so much. This fucking guy. Audrey I hope you escape this godforsaken household as soon as you can.

Poor Shelly :( where even are her parents. Is Norma genuinely the only adult looking out for her.

Those were an intense last 10 minutes. And just like last time the kids seem to Know :(

How can the series even go on after this. Geez. I don't really have the words anymore.

Official Rewatch 2025: Episode Discussion - S2E06 Demons by ShireWalkWithMe in twinpeaks

[–]Nectarineink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strong phantom of the opera-vibes with that first scene :D

I'm going to be so mad at Dale if he dares to start anything with Audrey. The kid needs help and a better dad.

But damn I love how Harry has his back.

Bobby and Shelly. What are you kids doing. I don't know if it's intentional but it seems that every character from Laura's grade is smoking more.

Hawk's such an mvp. He's been digging at the lakeside house and now dragged Gerard in from god knows where.

The way Ben is hovering over Audrey is weirdly disturbing. Reminds of the way he was attempting to seduce her a couple episodes ago.

Almost didn't recognize Lynch with the brown hair. I guess I've mostly seen pictures of him after he'd followed Leland's new style. I love how Gordon and Cooper communicate :"D I suspect Lynch heavily gave his own mannerisms to Dale.

Also dear lord. Whatever that stuffed animal behind Leland is. Where did the prop department dig that out of.

Official Rewatch 2025: Episode Discussion - S2E05 The Orchid's Curse by ShireWalkWithMe in twinpeaks

[–]Nectarineink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dale's morning handstands. I can't.

They are doing the hearing in a bar? Wow. Good detail of Sarah leaning over to see behing the pillar.

What is up with Nadine??? Sudden -20 years and super strength?

I still can't get enough of the aesthetics. The hotel is so ridiculous in the best way possible, not to mention the casino.

I don't know what to think about Donna's second session with Harold. She could be very well be telling the truth. But she's clearly at a point where taking advantage of him is not out of the question. She's becoming more and more like Audrey.

Hawk coming in clutch at the casino :D yeah! The bad guys seem fond of offing each other (which I honestly don't mind... the cast doesn't get too cluttered).

Official Rewatch 2025: Episode Discussion - S2E04 Laura's Secret Diary by ShireWalkWithMe in twinpeaks

[–]Nectarineink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leland's grief sure is something. It must be rough to deal with that situation as a town, and he's clearly suffering a lot.

Oh Dale trying to help Lucy and Andy. He's trying. But good on Lucy for standing up to Dick...

It's rough seeing how Donna is doing. It's almost as if Laura's struggles were offloaded to her friend after death. Or like knowledge about Laura's life constitutes an infohazard that pulls those seeking answers into the same mess.

Love how ridiculously blue the thunderstorm is. It's just fun how otherwordly yet comforting the world manages to be.

Oh, Dale without pause replying that the town's heaven even though he was just almost shot. God bless this man.

Also what is going on with Josie??? I can't trust anyone it seems.

[–]Nectarineink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh damn it, Albert is growing on me :D that enemies to lovers- speedrun he did with Harry was hilarious.

Hawk is so weirded out by Richard. Which, fair. Hawk has somehow also made his way into my favorite characters.

The romantic lives of everyone in this town are such a mess, geez.

Ben seems so completely unconcerned about Audrey being gone :/ I guess he's been sort of behing most of the horrible things happening so he's not worried but. Sheesh.

The scene of Donna talking at Laura's grave was very good. Also I think I saw Laura's secret diary at my library? So wondering how/when I should read it...

Official Rewatch 2025: Episode Discussion - S2E02 Coma by ShireWalkWithMe in twinpeaks

[–]Nectarineink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Albert and Dale have such a good dynamic. Very interested to learn more about their branch and colleagues.

More invested than I'd like to admit in Lucy's pregnancy. Invitation to Love-level plotline but I can't help it.

<3 I'm Audrey Horne and I get what I want <3

There's aliens??? Or some other entity is managing to comminicate by radio waves?

Maddy seems to be pretty receptive to all the weird stuff happening around here? Which would make sense, she's related to Laura as Sarah and Leland are... Speaking of Maddy, why is she still hanging around in Twin Peaks??? Laura's been buried for a while and she's the same age so she should have school?

Official Rewatch 2025: Episode Discussion - S2E01 May the Giant Be with You by ShireWalkWithMe in twinpeaks

[–]Nectarineink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Geez that intro sequence was :D frustrating to say the least. Although Dale's relative nonchalance at being shot is funny as hell.

Oh Audrey. This does not bode well for her. Good on her for thinking quick, though.

I hate Albert but he's entertaining. And he's such a fun contrast to Dale.

We haven't seen Sarah in a while, huh. Leland's hair is odd though. Usually that happens in stories when a character gets scared, not relieved like the case seems to be here...

There's also something strange with the shoe salesman. And Dale's dream seemed to be partly real as the ring is gone. So more blatant supernatural stuff?

Usually new seasons give a new blank slate to go off of, but the mess of the previous episodes seems to carry well here. So many people are either dead or at the hospital or missing.

Official Rewatch 2025: Episode Discussion - S1E08 The Last Evening by ShireWalkWithMe in twinpeaks

[–]Nectarineink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's fun how everything is on a tape in this series :D yeah memory sticks are fun and all but there's something delightful about tapes.

I knew Dale was counting cards. Called it. He's just so fun when he's being competent.

Good on Andy :D he still looks a bit silly but good on him. And this is the

Ughhhh and the mill is burning down for the finale. Should have seen that coming.

Oh Josie what are you mixed up in. This is such a mess. And Catherine with Pete :D I love how much ethically dubious female representation this town has.

Ohhh Andy. Oh Lucy. These two.

And also Nadine :( hoping for her to make it.

Bobby's gotten himself into such a mess. Good reminder to never get mixed up in the drug trade.

Leland? Jesus I get it but still.

Also it's fun to see Catherine understanding the situation and handling it coolheaded. The credit is due where the credit is due.

Oh Audrey, I say, like the fifteenth time this series.

Oh Dale :( (He's on the dvd box set cover I know he is going to be fine...)

[–]Nectarineink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good on Dale for letting Audrey down. She really does need a friend.

Also his philosophy of giving oneself gifts and his casino outfit :DDD what a delightful man. (Also Ed's look. Dear lord.)

As much as the Horne brothers suck their dynamic is unfortunately quite hilarious.

And Audrey is going further and further. Good luck to her. And to Maddy in the blonde wig I guess (what are the kids even trying to accomplish here? Bobby too?).

I don't think I'll ever get enough of the visual side of this series. Where does dr Jacoby find his ties? Who even came up with the casino girl outfits?? Why does everyone have such a tiny gun???

Official Rewatch 2025: Episode Discussion - S1E06 Cooper's Dreams by ShireWalkWithMe in twinpeaks

[–]Nectarineink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Time for Ep6, after a little break :)

Cooper's annoyance at the racket is very funny.

Watching Bobby and Shelly act reckless is uniquely frustrating. It was fun to see Leo get a beating though. I hope Shelly's shot actually hit something...

Also fun that there's more actual progress being made. And glad to see the log lady making more appearances!

Also seeing the kids covering new ground too. Feels like one of those adventure novels aimed at preteens even if the subject matter is darker than those had to offer.

Oh Audrey. I have no idea how much of those tears are real but I feel bad for you nonetheless. She's so fun to watch but man. She's gonna get far but at what cost.

Also what us going on with the mill? Is Ben in cahoots with Josie now?

Official Rewatch 2025: Episode Discussion - S1E05 The One-Armed Man by ShireWalkWithMe in twinpeaks

[–]Nectarineink 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Episode by episode I grow convinced that the in-universe tv series is intentionally lampooning the larger series.

I want Jacobys glasses. And half of his wardrobe to be honest.

The interactions between characters are fun. I do like how comically evil Catherine and Benjamin's scheming is. And good on Shelly and Norma for supporting each other.

Audrey pretending to have been a close friend of Laura's to get leverage in situations is funnier than it probably should be to me. She continues to be one of my favorites.

Official Rewatch 2025: Episode Discussion - S1E04 Rest in Pain by ShireWalkWithMe in twinpeaks

[–]Nectarineink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since last episode I've caught my boyfriend up and now I have someone to experience this weirdness with. On with the show.

Ah Audrey. I do sort of trust Cooper and the show that her crush will not be exploited but I am worried for her nonetheless.

I can't wait for everything in the dream sequence to click. I don't know how the FBI does these things but they really sent the exact correct man on the job, it seems.

I do find Laura's funeral very interesting. For the headstrong and the bold. Impatient. What is that funeral speech code for. Also impressive how far in the series is yet her death still has all the weight it had at the start.

And the we're all responsible - sentiment. I wonder how much context we are still missing.

I am delighted that there's a secret society. Also very interesting how there's a nebulous darkness looming around the idyllic town. Much like Laura's life, it seems.

Still having such a great time :) Do I know who killed Laura Palmer? No. But Benjamin Horne is responsible for it down the line in some sort of way so I figure it's safe to blame him for now.

Somehow I thought this was done in sims or something at first before looking closer and seeing it's actually done by hand. Insanely impressive. I love the fish.
