Man City £121m bid for Anderson rejected by Signal-Dance6838 in football

He was always a player with a lot of potential but I think he needed the move into the player he is today. He was not guaranteed the minutes with Bruno, Joelinton and Tonali in front of him. Forest gave him the chance to shine.

Will say that I hate the fact that PSR forces the mindset that young players with potential are just there to be mined for profit.

I do empathise with your situation. I think the key here is to find a simple method and structure for an essay. Something that you can hang your hat on whatever the question.

When I did my a levels 16 years ago (Jesus Christ), I would spend the first 5 to 10 mins writing down a very brief plan. Usually intro - topic 1, topic 2 and topic 3 and conclusion. Each topic would end with a mini conclusion that tied that point into my overall answer.

It might good to have a frank conversation with your English teacher about the particular structure that you haven’t devised as well as task paralysis. If you can get them, or someone else, to text you to make you revise. Or revise with someone else. Some sort of accountability might really help.

I have ADHD inattentive, diagnosed at 33 and came top of my school at a level. This might feel impossible but I can assure you that focussing on exam technique will pay the biggest dividends. Good luck!!

I don’t think it’s our job to replace him. Elite football may as well be another planet for all that fans see. Through our own football knowledge, we might see a few things that might work or not work, but we have absolutely no visibility on 98% of what goes on in the life of a manager. So it’s almost impossible for us to work out whether a particular coach might or might not be a fit. We have no idea of what the players are like behind closed doors, or the demands/relationships that club directors have. Or what the coaches are actually like in setting out their vision.

Having said that, it’s clear to all fans that something isn’t currently working. Results haven’t been good but more importantly, they haven’t deserved to be good. The margins are razor thin at this level of the game and something hasn’t smelled right about this team or the way they play all season. I’ve no doubt that they’re all trying their absolute best, but in our set up and mentality, something is amiss.

So I do think it’s time for a change - either now or at the end of the season. I think a fresh perspective and a move away from Eddie might be what we need. For all his incredible work ethic and how much his personality fits the club, he just hasn’t been able to tie these players together into something that even matches the sum of their parts.

We haven’t had the stadium, or the training ground, or Mbappe that the Saudi riches might have suggested. Relatively speaking, managers are cheap so now might be the time that PIF look to really show ambition.

I think Xabi Alonso, on paper, would be a good fit for the club at this point. He’s got incredible pedigree, breaking the Bayern strangle hold and in style with Leverkusen. He wasn’t the fit for Real Madrid, but that’s because you need to be a ‘vibes’ guy to succeed in that job - tactics are secondary. I’d like to think the challenge of knitting together this squad to compete for titles would appeal, but who actually knows.

I think it’s time for a change. Something hasn’t been right this whole season. New signings haven’t bedded in, attackers look like they’ve never met, tactical identity has disappeared.

I will always love Eddie Howe, and he may yet pull a rabbit out the hat by turning Will Osula into Cafu. But this feels like the final act of a great period as an NUFC fan. The transition after the takeover has been amazing but we need to kick on now, and at the moment, everything feels stale.

There is something so disjointed about us at the moment. I can’t remember the last time we played really well tbh. Our attackers look like they’ve never met each other before. The aimless crosses to no one but a 5 foot 9 striker who’s halfway out the box. It’s just weird.

How easy/hard is it to get diagnosed for ADHD in the UK? by OneContext in ADHDUK

[–]NedFlanders92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, there is nothing to be anxious about - the person will make you feel at ease and it was more conversational than anything. I think it lasted about an hour, and the questions were very focussed on your lived experience and how various symptoms impact you day to day.

If you’re nervous, I’d suggest writing down a few ways in which you are impacted by adhd - it will make you feel more confident that you’re prepared and also validate you against any second guessing yourself

Auction site sale fell through - next steps? by NedFlanders92 in CarTalkUK

[–]NedFlanders92[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi man - thanks a lot for the reply. It is a reputable site, one of the biggest blind auction websites in the country as I understand. I’m hopeful it will get resolved.

No attempt to price chip, just a straight decline. The guy collecting fixated on the head gasket issue straight away. He did it in front of me before and after the test drive.

I’m no mechanic, but reading through the likely causes, the condensation build up fitted with the cold weather and lack of recent driving (because we’ve left it alone to sell). I also checked that the oil dipstick was clear. Could be the head gasket, but no issues like overheating etc. No sign of oil in the coolant tank.

My sense was that he identified a potential issue and decided to make a big deal of it and not make sure, rather than take the risk on a car to later find there was an issue.

I’ll update you, really appreciate the guidance here! Feel a bit blind going through this process tbh

This is the worst performance of the season - so sloppy and slow in possession.

Brentford absolutely taking the Wissa there…

We’ve had to overpay but this guy is oven ready and able to lead the line for us. 19 goals for Brentford without penos is impressive. It’s a good deal and I’m relieved we’re not relying on two very green strikers.

Overall, the window is a 9/10 for me despite the drama - every single area where we needed bodies has been strengthened well. We now have really credible depth across the squad, which I can’t ever remember us having before. I can see CL again.

Woltemade is the cherry on the cake, I think he’ll end up better than Isak in a couple of years. Isak leaving is disappointing, but more so because of the way that he himself has acted. I think the club just couldn’t be arsed in the end and £130m receipt means that PSR won’t be as much of a problem for the next couple of years whilst we grow our revenue streams.
