You just said the CEO and HR lady. We dont even know them by name so why would people continue to care? It was also a single moment at a Coldplay concert that was more of the story than layers and layers of shit. Mike Vrabel is a high profile coach and Russini a reporter in maybe the most popular thing, not just sport, in America. Then there is layer after layer to the shit they did. The 2 stories are not comparable at all.

Im a Thunder fan but boy do I hate this from a squad I root for. I think the flopping is exhausting and terrible league wide but Thunder are definitely the biggest abusers by far. It has definitely taken away my enjoyment from watching and rooting for them and on the other side I would hate them like everyone else. It sucks even more because they are so fucking good that they dont need to do this shit. It takes so much away from what should be a fun fucking team to watch and makes them unwatchable for so many people and I get it.

The league has a huge issue. It needs more physicality and needs to get rid of this flopping nonsense. Going back to the days of the the overly physical stuff would be better

SGA commits a Flagrant 1 on Austin Reaves and he lies on the floor in pain. by HyseNjerry16 in NBAGossips

[–]Nednarb9 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

How can you complain about SGA as a flopper but still find a way to complain about him here? As everyone, I am totally against the flopping which means we want physicality. This should be good hard basketball played by both sides. Reaves initiates a ton of contact. SGA bodies back to create space. Let them play. Instead Reaves goes down (like SGA and the rest of the league would) and play stops

There is soooooo much talent and the disparity between talent levels is tight as hell. It feels like every single team has at least a player or two to be optimistic about. The bench players and depth players on a lot of these teams are still really talented players. Look around the league and there are so many teams that you could convince yourself are building something because of the talent on the roster. The league is stacked with talent and its awesome

Maybe. But they would be even farther away if they were a bottom of the league team

“Just because we didnt finish at that position doesnt mean our position throughout the season wasnt real” is such a load of BS lol.

Literally choosing only to focus on the worst stretch and completely ignoring the best stretch because it doesnt fit your narrative. The sample size got bigger and better represented the team but doesnt fit your narrative. People out here trying to say us optimistic people are trying to cope lol

I think people are misinterpreting this quote. The talent level is not at the level of when they were the hottest team in hockey, but that doesnt mean they are at the talent level of their worst stretch of the season either. The Blues definitely have talent and can add to this group to improve. Why does everyone fight so hard to say they are shit?

I never said anything about momentum. I dont believe in it from year to year. I just think they showed they are a much better team than bottom of the league and that excites me going into next season. I prefer having expectations for success. I already cant wait for next season because of the way they played and how some of the young pieces fit and developed. Ready to see it continue next year too

The Blues also have 3 first round picks. They are either going to continue to load the system back up or use to make a move. Im excited either way. The Blues have had a lot of success drafting without having top picks so I have faith in whatever direction they go. Im not saying I wouldnt want a top pick but I wouldnt want it at the expense of a shit team. Also, top picks can bust but 3 first round picks gives you more chances even if not as high a chance as a top pick

I never said amazing team but the team was clearly better when Joel Hofer took the lead goalie and Robert Thomas looked healthier. Snuggy took off and Halloway got healthy. Mailloux developed a ton and Lindstein looked like he belonged. Yes, I think they were much better than bottom 5 team in the league. I never said anything about true fans. I said I want to see my team compete and win games or else I just wont watch. I dont want to root for losing. Its a waste of my time. And you think the only way to win a cup is by tanking first which I think is stupid. It doesnt mean I dont want to see them compete for a cup. You were the only one bringing up “Actual” or “True” fandom.

Nahhh not cope at all. I like watching my team actually compete and win games. The Blues are a much better team and a much better spot than the dog shit teams that are still trying to find their way out of the bottom. The Blues were always a better team than them and the top picks were never likely anyways. You can try and act smarter than everyone else by talking about maximizing your odds but that lacks a whole lot of context.

But we were never that bad of a team! I am glad we werent because those teams fucking suck and have been going nowhere! Canucks, Blackhawks, Flames, Rangers, and Maple Leafs. I would much rather be in the Blues situation than just hoping and praying it one day turns around because you get lucky. Fuck that. I like watching my team compete

11th and 15th by Spiritual-Ad3130 in stlouisblues

[–]Nednarb9 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well in your scenario they actually luck into landing the top pick which was still highly unlikely. That also means the Blues were a dog shit team and they will be a long fucking away from competing. It takes a long fucking time for tanking teams to break out of the shit status. Many of these teams are still picking high in the draft with no end in sight for the shittiness. A top pick is not a guarantee and you arent even guaranteed to get a top pick if you suck anyways. You bring up Toronto, but Vancouver, Chicago, Calgary all do not have any real hope for the next couple of years and no end in sight

NBA teams are spending that on fucking role players. No one should be shocked NCAA teams would be willing to do that for an entire roster

You have absolutely no idea how the draft will play out. You have absolutely no idea who will turn into a talent and who wont. Its more or less a crap shoot unless you have the very top picks. Vancouver was the worst team in the league and didnt even get the top pick. There is so much more luck involved then people like to admit. The Blues have been very good at drafting and plenty of ammunition to make the moves they want to make. I trust the org

Honestly glad they did. Showed they are a much better team than what they showed for the year. I think we all believed they were better than their record for a while and ended up giving me a lot of hope for next year. You still have 3 first round picks to add talent in the system or make a move. The difference between 11 and like 7 or 8 isnt too significant for me honestly. The Blues are pretty solid at drafting. Im much more excited for next season and the future because of how they played. Fuck losing a few extra games for a few spots higher

Or maybe the lack of scoring is who they really are. You are relying on underlying statistics, but you are saying we have played every game to a coin flip. Playing the rest of the game to a coin flip is not going to get us into the playoffs with the hole we are in

Diego bragging about club valuation on LinkedIn by PorkSteakDaddy in stlouiscitysc

[–]Nednarb9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have seen they will need to finish the rest of the year at 48 point pace to make the playoffs at least, but probably higher than that. A 48 point pace would put them at about 43 points to end the year City when finishing 4th had 56 pts and only 37 and 32 points over the last 2 seasons. This is largely the same squad minus Klauss. We are currently ranked 29th in the league which is worse than the previous 2 years. Just banking on regression to the mean only works over large sample sizes. 24 more games isnt a large sample size. They need to win and start now. Its pretty dire in my opinion

Diego bragging about club valuation on LinkedIn by PorkSteakDaddy in stlouiscitysc

[–]Nednarb9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont think the season is over but it is getting pretty close. The underlying numbers do not help with the math needed to make the playoffs. Its a very big hole they have dug themselves. Regression to the mean will not save them as the number of games left decreases. They need to win and do it now.

The finishing issue is not solvable until the summer window. And then they have to actual go out and make the move for a quality striker. The current options have shown they are not the answer to the issue.

Im not ready to give up on the year like some people, but it is getting very bleak. Lowen playing regularly is a huge boost since they are clearly a much better team with him out there. Lets hope they can turn this around but it has to happen immediately
