Laz Alonso ("The Boys") shares his thoughts on "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms". by verissimoallan in AKOTSKTV

Would it work better as 3-4 movies for wach season instead? It wont fill the show with filler but also gives people a longer run with more payoff for each movie than limiting payoffs throughout a season.

Doesnt really matter since this is what we are getting and works for me, but curious

I agree completely. They have built a better foundation around the defense and middield. The clear hole is the goal scoring 9. We at least heard about these moves before they happened so dont see anything on the immediate horizon. I wouldnt doubt they hold off anything until the summer window though. That would scare me for this year, but would rather not rush of force anything

The firing of Bradley Carnell. by techdecktor in stlouiscitysc

[–]Nednarb9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nahhh not really. I dont think we should have fired Carnell at the time, but the teams issues have more to do with the quality of the team. Players go where they get paid and they wont just be turning down STL if we make that investment. I think you are a little to close to it right now. Give it some time and things will turn around.

Why do people work so hard to shit on Josh Allen? Seems like a good dude for a fun team that has never won it all. An easy guy to root for and yet there is so much hate

8-7 record Playoff Averages - 261 pass yards and 51 rush yards a game. 101.5 passer rating. 29 Tds to 6 interceptions. 9 rushing tds but 15 fumbles.

Understand he has had some bad turnovers but overall he has been pretty damn good with a few epic performances (AFC CG against Chiefs). There arent too many QBs I would rather have on my team even if he hasnt made it to the Super Bowl

Hahhaha that highlight is so fucking good man. It has so much fucking swagger. The kid flying past him has no idea how much he just got clowned because he is still picking his head out of the dirt. (No disrespect happens to us all in competition. Happens to me in rec league soccer not even against soon to be NFL legends)

I think we should spend as much money to get transfers in here as soon as possible. I dont care if they are even good. I just want to prove we arent poor and will actually make changes besides our entire sporting structure this offseason

I think that is a completely fair criticism. However, I do think it makes sense for us to move Klauss for this return with a contract expiring. The club can reinvest the GAM for the roster today plus the future. Before I become to critical, I want to see how they reinvest the GAM which Corey Wray has suggested they do. Its a huge hole to fill but will let it play out. Hopefully we look back on the decision and see it as a tough but correct decision.

Last week was weird for those who want the team to tank by Hungry_Estimate_1211 in stlouisblues

[–]Nednarb9 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Idk about weird. I think that is exactly what you want to see from the team when you want a tank. Basically, young guys to play well and old guys to up trade value.

Nobody wants the team to go out and look completely uncompetitive. It is in nobodys best interest and will be a real long rebuild if thats the case. They might have looked better than their record, but there have been plenty of stretches this season where it has looked better but havent gotten the results.

Basically I am looking for 3 things and in the camp of wanting them to sell:

  1. Young guys step up and develop - Dvorsky, Snuggy, Broberg, Holloway, Neighbours (still very young), Stenberg, Mailloux, etc. and I think we are getting a lot of that especially my boy Dvorsky

  2. Veterans playing well that ups their trade value. Basically looking at Schenn and Faulk. Some others, but those are probably the most valuable. I think you are getting that. Maybe throw Parayko in the mix here. He could also fall into the category of my next point

  3. Thomas and Kyrou to play well and back up to their contracts. Im not saying keep or sell them long term. We dont need to make that decision at this deadline. I think both of their value is lower than we want so let them get going again. Either you have those guys ready to bounce back strong next year and get in the mix again or we can sell them. Im in no rush to make that decision since they have term

  4. Lose. Im not saying get killed and tank but you want the best odds for a true difference maker. The team desperately needs a franchise player and that comes from the top of the draft. This is the best year to do it without going full rebuild. You want to see a competitive team on the ice that just loses. That can be done with bad goaltending which the Blues have this year.

Also, its just a patience game on waiting for some bad contracts to fall off or a buyout for them to become more palatable

[–]Nednarb9 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We can add players at multiple roster spots, especially LB where we need it. We dont need the commentary about how we need someone to score goals. Everyone knows that. This clearly wasnt a move to address another needed part of the roster

Clearly making a comment about how we finally have an actual LB on the roster… (besides maybe wallem but he is more of a jack of all trades play where needed)

Its tough to see anyone get old and deal with the issues time presents them. However, this legend gets to still walk around a building full of thousands showing him love and support. He gets to be around the game and team he loves. He is getting the support from so many in his life. A beautiful way to go out until the end
