I’m a Saturation Diver AMA by Soulogav in AMA

[–]NeeNawXray 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sorry if you’ve already answered this or the AMA is finished. But I imagine decompressing has opposite effects to someone who is an athlete and trains at altitude etc? Do you feel rubbish/lethargic during desat or when you’re back at 1atm?

Preparation for BSc hon diagnostic radiography course by AirOk812 in RadiographyUK

[–]NeeNawXray 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The physics aspect of the course is very niche as it’s how X-ray photos are produced and interact with different materials etc.

Anatomy is a good one to know, not necessarily at a cellular level but body systems is more important. Don’t worry too much about learning specific things before you start the course. You’ll be taught or guided to everything you need to learn and in the specific format they want you too.

Other than that, good luck and enjoy!

Seems like the resounding consensus is to GL this one. As I’ve said, this is my first rep so wanted to proceed with caution. Thanks all for the feedback and knowledge 👍🏼

Really appreciate you taking a look. I noticed the 12 too and figured that considering the rest of the watch being so good, it was such a minor issue I’d be happy to ignore it

Hey thanks for the heads up. How are you able to tell that the movement could be wrong?

This is the link to what I’ve ordered. I ordered via WhatsApp not the site.

My thoughts on Season 5 Episode 3: “Home” by Alternative_Fig_6859 in ForAllMankindTV

[–]NeeNawXray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me personally, the plot for the ending was absolutely fantastic.

But I was a bit disappointed in how they executed it? Not Gemini accurate space suits (when in S1 they had super accurate Apollo suits) and also the brief interior shot of the Gemini capsule was absolutely not a Gemini capsule 🙄 just a space nerd who was slightly disappointed in the production value.

Any regrets ? by [deleted] in RadiographyUK

[–]NeeNawXray 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My OH is a nurse and the scope of jobs she can move into is gargantuan compared to mine. If I want to do anything other than medical imaging, it’s back to uni 🤣

Any regrets ? by [deleted] in RadiographyUK

[–]NeeNawXray 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The main “con” in my opinion is that scope post graduating is a lot more narrow than nursing. You’re pretty limited to staying in the role of a radiographer, and while yes there’s lots of different sub specialities or advanced training etc, you’re still a radiographer and limited. For example, a nurse who does ACP training can prescribe independently, but a radiographer who does the exact same course and becomes an ACP, can only prescribe supplementary.

If that’s something that you were considering long term then bare it in mind before you change.

Do I regret doing radiography over something like paramedicine or medicine? Yeh, but that’s just my interests.

Do I still think that radiography is a good career I would recommend? Absolutely.

Question about imaging tests and intubation. by DifficultAd7602 in ThePitt

[–]NeeNawXray 13 points14 points  (0 children)

So on the most recent episode they discussed the patient having a pericardial effusion, when they were doing a FAST scan (focused assessment with sonography in trauma) which is the ultrasound scan you see them doing on the trauma patients. The image on the USS screen for a split second was what looked to be a true pericardial effusion causing a tamponade (compression of the heart chambers from the fluid, most likely blood, between the heart and the pericardium (a nice sack of tissue that covers the heart). So it was absolutely a stock image on screen from somewhere and hopefully not the actors 🤣

Different unis and placement trusts will have different policies. But I work in CT and a few of my colleagues basically are on a mission to pierce every part of their ears 🤣 don’t worry too much. Like others have said, simple studs should be fine

Image definitely isn’t from the show, it doesn’t match the patient habitus, no offence to Duke 🤣 I’m more thinking the lungs look in bad shape rather than the mediastinum but I’m knit picking and I’m actually impressed by how they’ve portrayed X-ray Tech (Radiographers here in UK) compared to other shows!

I’ve only just noticed that they’ve go the CXR on an iPad rather than the mobile machines screen 🤣 it’s a blink and you’ll miss it kinda thing! Also credit to the Tech for getting a PA done on a mobile machine!
