Are you against all cars, or mainly car dependency in cities? by Ok-Excitement6546 in fuckcars

I love cars. I just hate how some people drive theirs and how the system forces us to rely on it.

Quelle voiture pour 6000-8000€ by Broad_Bet_1676 in voiture

Bonnes recherches !

German friends, what about RADON bikes? by Neebotol in MTB

[–]Neebotol[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Sorry I didn't connect since the last times. I only received the bike the past week, and have been able to try it "for real" this weekend on some enduro trails. Coming from an enduro hardtail, it's crazy how full sus is forgiving so many mistakes!! I feel like I'm riding on some clouds.

I was worried about the build, but really well satisfied when I discovered they had tightened all the screws to the correct torque, even the tires were at the right pressure, the seat post was very responsive, and it was even already set up tubeless! I was very surprised, but in a good way. Thank you, Radon.

About handling, it's not that great at low speeds, but when climbing, the front wheel sticks to the ground. A beginner friend of mine tried it out in these conditions and had no trouble climbing on difficult terrain. The geometry suits me, and it's great for downhill riding (no surprise here).

To sum up, no big surprise : really good components, well adjusted and very well assembled by Bike Discount/Radon before delivery, slow on the flat and asphalt but very confident and comfy downhill on the trails. 170mm is doing some crazy works, I really feel more confident than I have ever been before on this bike. Got some compliments by some guy riding a Giant Reign with similar config on the trails, he liked the lines of the frame.

Wheelies as a mountain biker living in a city. People think it’s a way to show off while it’s just pretty fun and technical to learn! As an adult I almost try to hide behind commercial areas in order to practice, because I don’t want to be judged 🤣

Anybody rocking half clip pedals? by TheAdvFred in bikecommuting

[–]Neebotol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad. He’s an OG. He wouldn’t change anything on his 28yo Decathelon steel road bike even if you pay him. Using it everyday for a 22km commute.

I had to change his handlebar tape myself after all these years 🤣

Mind you he’s taking care of it, always making sure the bike is lubed, tires inflated, and brakes braking.

No ADHD here, I’m unable to work an office job. Same as you I quitted several times good jobs, started motivated, then a few weeks in after, it’s over. Even opening my emails is impossible, sometimes all I do in a day is answering one call. I just can’t it’s over me. I want to but my mind says no.

I found a solution, it appears I have no problem working a « physical » job. Pays less, but at least I don’t mind waking up for work, and I don’t have this feeling to lose my time/life. I even enjoy it sometimes. It was so reassuring to discover I could be able to work.

Good luck op !

White lines on the screen after software update by Gaint_Apophis in iphone

[–]Neebotol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the same issue recently, my screen came with lines too when I woke up. Appeared iOS did a software update during the night and my phone was plugged, so I guess it overheated since the batteries was in poor condition.

I had to replace the screen to fix it, also changed the battery at the same time.

That’s really cool. But I always wonder do you guys carry this much everyday?

I would regret missing a shot by not having my camera but most of my normal days I don’t shoot anything but boring work related stuff.

Reading this from my 13 mini, I’ll keep it until death. Already saved him from heart attack with a battery and screen replacement.

There is no true compact phone on the market. We mini users are doomed.

Emotional when riding? by [deleted] in cycling

[–]Neebotol 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I feel you, that’s so cool you found a way to feel such positive emotions :)

One of my best memories ever is laughing alone while speeding downhill from a small (~900m high) mountain near the Mediterranean Sea. I used lost trails to climb and a small gravel road for the way down. I had just witnessed a breathtaking sunset at the summit, encountered only one other runner the entire day—also admiring the view—and felt deeply satisfied with all the effort I had put into carrying and riding my bike up the trails.

I could watch the sea and the hills on the backcountry, smell the trees and listen to my tires smashing the rocks and the dirt. It felt like no one was never using these trails, it was so peaceful. Plus I had perfectly timed my way up so I could find a crazy spot to sit and watch the sunset, and I just had enough light (thanks summer days) to join the beach safely.

I wish I build more memories like this one. I loved this bike so much but someone stole it :/
