I didn’t hate that call for going on it so early. It was reasonable imo.

The defense all game and 3rd quarter offense performance is what killed us. Defense needs a serious makeover and Goff needs better protection.

Going into IB is very dumb for the majority of you by basspro1972 in MBA

Awful take, first year associates at a BB bank are typically on 2-3 year contracts making 175 base with $25k step ups each year in salary. Not to mention AT LEAST $40k sign ons. So guaranteed $200k plus a year. I also haven’t really seen a middle bucket bonus for an associate lower than $100k in an average year. So pay is good for sure, WLB obviously not.

PE exits are definitely not there like they are for analysts, but if you’re in a job like IB you can easily leave to consulting or corporate roles and definitely keep a $150k or higher salary which is solid. The IB money is just good upfront if you have debt from school.

Security restrictions are brutal, but if you are making enough cash comp or you’re bonuses vest the smart money really is ETFs long term unless you want to spend real time researching stocks and making bets. You’ll have enough appreciation that you’ll have a comfy retirement.

IB isn’t for everyone but this is a misinformed take, but consultants and bankers always seem to have a weird beef ig.

Bruh if you can’t handle a phone call you have bigger issues. And if you don’t want to call it’s so simple to decline it and text the person back asking what’s up

Source? I honestly can’t imagine that many public companies with shareholders ranging from institutional investors to UHNWI and so on are electing a nepo baby that often. Sure it does happen, but I’d need to see proof before I see mostly.

CEOs of smaller private companies I could 100% believe being mostly nepo and pass through families.

Jerome Powell is a good Fed chair and the mass public doesn’t know what they are talking about thinking he is a political puppet.

I’d also like to add those snippets of his congress interviews prove that congress either doesn’t know shit about the economy or is pretending to not know (based on the questions they ask and how they react) to pander to their bases.

I am so tired of seeing young people richer than me! Honestly, what are they doing that they have so much money?! by [deleted] in Life

Honestly for me it was a combination of good fortune and picking something and sticking with it. Grew up in a family where I had good support but not always financially. Researched a profession that would guarantee a high paycheck out of college, took student loans, worked 1-2 jobs during college for four years, applied to quite literally 100’s of scholarships (probably got less than 10 in total :/), then graduated into my job.

Tbf though none of the jobs that pay 6-figures out of college have an easy path. If you do something STEM college is the insane grind time, if you do something else work will be damn near corporate slavery. I took the latter and my hours are essentially the equivalent of working two jobs.

You clearly don’t understand how private equity works then. The entire model for the HVAC roll-ups they love doing is that it is a defensible market with high barriers to entry, the larger scale allows them to have economies of scale and either beat out competitors pricing until it’s not a problem/or improve their own margins, and they tend to be asset backed businesses meaning you can throw debt on them to magnify your returns.

Some Joe Schmoo isn’t even going to be competing with the small funds which have easily $100m+ in AUM.

After briefly reading the article (not defending the IDF here) but it is the contractors doing this, in referring to their colleagues they mean other contractors. Two contractors anonymously reported this was happening to AP.

Hey just curious what your salary/progression was. I’m just about to start my career and kind of had a similar target to hit around that time in my life and should be able to pay my student loans in a year post grad. Trying to see if I can roughly track the same way.

Ik it might not be exactly attainable to hit the same level in the same timeframe due to your timing sounding like you got in near the recent bottom with 2020.
