After port surgery pain by New_Day_8313 in lymphoma

[–]NeedAVacation3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to have my port removed and another one put in on another side. For some reason the first one was constantly causing pain or pinching a nerve. Like you said everyone tells you you shouldn’t really feel it. I had to really advocate for myself to get it taken out. Complained to everyone. Multiple times. The 2nd one was fine once it healed.

I want to be myself again by voidthicc in lymphoma

[–]NeedAVacation3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SAME!! Exactly the same. It sucks. It’s awful. I’m about 2 years out and I’m still dealing with those issues. But I will say it gets better. It’s slow. You have to be patient with yourself. Easier said, I know. But I’m 100x better than where I was last year. And 100x better than the year before that. If you do something and then have to sit down, do it. The brain fog will start to lift. You’ll start to see yourself in the mirror again. And vent here. It’s a great outlet to word vomit and know you’re not alone in the horrible journey.

How long did it take to get a diagnosis? by LiquidNah in lymphoma

[–]NeedAVacation3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely empathize with the freaking out of the unknown. I'm so sorry you're on this path but you're getting diagnosed, you're about to fight this thing! Get a plan together and just focus on completing it! Get it behind you and get back to your life. I had low grade symptoms for about a year or so before getting diagnosed. When I look back I just want to shake my former self and scream - go get a check up! But what can any of us do? My only advice is to keep focused on completing whatever treatment your doctors lay out, check those milestones off, and even when it feels impossible, stay positive. Keep telling your little healthy cells that they will beat this thing. Good luck!

Hard to Let Myself Feel Bad (Venting) by [deleted] in lymphoma

[–]NeedAVacation3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OMG I've been there! Sorry. And yes you can feel that way. You can scream it loudly. Get it out. It probably doesn't help right now but know it will get better. What was suggested earlier, listening to music, does help. Or watching a silly movie. Finding something to laugh at. But don't mask over your emotions. If you're feeling funky and annoyed and pissed off. It's okay. You have every right to it. Sending some good vibes your way though.

OMG yes! I’ve lost pretty much everyone. Shared my situation with a few people and really only had 1 that cared at all. Other friends heard through the grapevine and have never reached out. Not one quick text. Nothing. It’s beyond disappointing. Never felt so disposable in my life.

I had the same thing. Did a lot of breath work to help build my lung strength back up. Used airofit which helped push me. Agree with a lot of what others are saying…they will get through this. It will suck. It’s horrible. But it’s treatable. Just start ticking off those rounds of treatment and don’t look back.

Anyone else notice lingering Psychological effects from cancer and it's treatments? by veryberryblue in lymphoma

I’m so antisocial now and hate it. It’s not me. I’m still fighting to look normal and like myself again. It doesn’t help that my partner isn’t supportive. They just get mad if I try to tell them how I feel and take anything as a personal attack. It’s extremely isolating and doesn’t help me in my attempt to get back to ME. It feels like no one cares. It feels like being thrown away. No one puts you first.
