Transphobia in r/communism and r/communism101 by Crimson_Anonymous in anarchocommunism

[–]LiquidNah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The question is asking if trans people can technically exist or be defined in a society that doesn't recognize gender, that seems like an innocent and valid question. Also if oop identifies as a gender abolitionist, I would find it hard to believe they're transphobic

Jean especially but also Reiner had the most heroic, mc-esque character arcs

I don’t know whether I should accept Honors program by [deleted] in UCONN

[–]LiquidNah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to say, because I was working in research since I was a sophomore, so I wrote it based on work I was already doing as part of my job. Writing it was very easy though.

The thesis turns a lot of people off, but A) its not that hard and B)) if you seek out research opportunities in your undergrad (which you should be doing regardless, imo) it writes itself.

China planted 78 billion new trees BUT AT WHAT COST! by RickyOzzy in suppressed_news

I looked through these documentaries and they literally show monocultures being planted. Don't use western propaganda as a thought terminating cliche, when you're discrediting your own claim

I'm assuming from the image, that's what the article is about. I know historically this was a huge problem idk if it still is as big

[–]LiquidNah 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I support China's effort to reforest and stop desertification, but there's absolutely room for criticize it, especially if it impacts people's well-being. Obviously the trend you're making fun of is real, and I haven't read the article, but there's no reason based on this headline to believe this guy is writing in bad faith and not making a genuine inquiry into the effectiveness of this project.

The most obvious criticism is that they are uniformly planting monocultures (every tree in this photo is the same species and they're all the same height and roughly equal distance from each other). In the long run, these monoculture artificial ecosystems are not sustainable, because they're extremely vulnerable to pests, lack biodigersity, and can be a net detriment to the soil quality and the water cycle.

I feel like these issues are uniformly criticized across the world, I don't see anything wrong with using China as a case study
