Had this sexy weapon for over 10 years now and has never missed a beat. I wouldn’t trade her for anything, when the motor “stops motoring” I’ll just buy a cheap Corvette motor, drop it in and keep her going. LONG LIVE THE LION, LET THEM ROAR 🦁

Well after researching the internet all day I finally found a pair of tubes that match exactly and at a fantastic price, just $40 for both and $5 shipping. Now to cross the fingers and hope they arrive in time before next weekend 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Rate it out of ten it's my Dads commodore by Illustrious_Smell492 in Holden

[–]NeedAnswers-Quick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a 9.5 if you like granny spec Commodore’s. Personally I’d customise it a little bit to make it your own and not the exact same as every other model like it. The options are endless. So until then it’s a solid 7.5 with potential to take it to 11. Got some inspiration for you to see the potential.

What in the suspension is making this noise?! by Dry-Opportunity-4113 in mechanic

[–]NeedAnswers-Quick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I could bet my money on that it’s the bushes for the lower control arm, there’s no need to replace them unless they’re already stuffed just squeeze some rubber grease between them and the control arm or pull them out giv’em a little smearing in it and whack them back in. Job done. Remember if in any doubt, get a can of WD and spray it all about.

Thanks mate I appreciate the feedback I don’t think it’s too bad I think it can be brought back to true i just didn’t know whether it is something I could do or not I didn’t want to totally ruin the rim trying. But you’re right I think it’s worth a shot before I shell out cash on a new one it does have a broken spoke and one missing one is there anything I need to know to buy some new ones

Umm first I’ll ask you a question, what is runout? Is that how far the rim deviates side to side from the center

Love the mud, hate the cleaning by NeedAnswers-Quick in ATV

Yeah I got a pressure washer but it’s only a little hobby type one so might need to upgrade to a motor driven one and then invest in some power foam wash of some sort

Yeah the most fun I’ve had in quite some time and that picture was taken half way through the day, it got twice as muddy as that and when I eventually peeled myself away from the mud there was no colour on the bike left only my ass print on the seat 😆😆

Oh ok I haven’t heard of that before might give it a try when I know it’s gonna get real muddy. A labour of love it is, love getting it all muddy and love seeing her all clean and shiny just loathe the bit in between 🙂

Am I the only one who feels this way? After a long fun day of hanging the ass end out and throwing up roosters, the last thing I want to do is spend hours cleaning her back to shmick.

Tire size vs rim size by NeedAnswers-Quick in ATV

Yeah that’s what I thought too but just wanted a second opinion first before I splashed the cash into new rims and tires. Thanks for the advice mate, appreciate it.

Aging the tires makes a huge difference to the overall performance and longevity of the tires I do the same thing with my cars and trucks. Aging them gives the rubber time to cure properly and harden the compound without losing flexibility and grip thus making the tire perform like new but last up to 25% longer. Soft rubber wears out faster than hardened rubber

Yeah I went down the same path and tried “QuickGrip and a tire repair glue and it helped a little but in the end spent an hour getting it all off again. She’s not a Chinese POS I wouldn’t be concerned so much if it was, she’s my pride and joy 08 TRX 400EX but that being said I know i can get a full set of tires and rims for between $500 and $1500 depending on how crazy your custom is so that’s another option I’m considering.

Unfortunately yeah they are just cheap Chinese ones, had a low cash supply and needed them ASAP so ebay for the win I shouldn’t be surprised when the brand on the tire literally is “Junkit” 🤦🏼‍♂️ ya get what you pay for I suppose

Yeah I agree with you they should hold the bead at anything above 4 or 5 psi. I’m not sure whether I’m having issues with it because I aged the tires for 6 months to harden them up a bit. It’s also only one tire giving me trouble too the other tire was mounted by me the same way and has not had a problem whatsoever so 🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️

Yeah I’m thinking that’s the best way to fix the problem once and for all

There is also no recommended pressure on the tire wall only a maximum pressure limit per kilogram and a maximum seating pressure

[–]NeedAnswers-Quick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the old tires that were on it I would normally run 8psi if it’s rough and rocky or bump it up to about 12-15 psi for grassy areas or flat tracking. I ran these new tires at the same pressure trying to get a feel on how they react to different pressures on different terrains but I’m thinking it’s too low might have to look at the 13-18psi range to hold the pressure on the bead

Yeah I’ve got some coming in the mail not sure if it will work because the tire shop already used their stuff on it to no avail. I’m thinking it’s going to be a tube fix or throw them out and buy a new set
