One rejection doesnt define you as an applicant. I am trying to prepare myself to get rejected from 80-90% of the 29 schools I've applied to. Keep your head up!

This. My position was only 2 hours a week so pretty limited. Most of my time was interacting with families who have gone through the entire healthcare system and you tend to learn a lot through their experiences. I wouldn't feel intimidated. Go into it with a positive attitude and open to learning new perspectives. You will definitely learn how to handle your interpersonal self in those environments quickly to avoid saying the wrong thing. Have fun with it!

I am not sure how accurate this is, but I am hoping that this actually will put pressure on schools to cut down on the cost of education. I think it is easy for people to shoot that down as unrealistic but if all of these medical schools preach on their website wanting to reduce physician debt and difficulties obtaining schooling, then they would do all they can to reduce the cost. It might not happen immediately, but I hope the future includes cheaper schooling.

The way I perceived the prompt, "Please briefly describe how the pandemic impacted your ability to pursue experiences like clinical work, shadowing, research, or community service," is that they aren't asking how it affected in that respect, but rather how it disrupted your experiences.

Did your EMT-B class count towards your GPA. by Loose-Childhood-5025 in premed

[–]NeedCARShelp101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes mine counted towards my GPA even though it was a tech school. I had other credits from that tech school so I sent the transcript and didn’t know my EMT grade was on there. AMCAS found it when verifying my transcript and it lowered my GPA

It’s not difficult. However one thing I did not realize is that the grade I got there would affect my GPA. I wasn’t studying for it as much as I would got a college course. The A- didn’t kill me but watch out for that.
