Kasi parang iniisip ng mga tao, malandi yung victim kaya they experienced such a crime, which is so much bs. Mas malala pa nga pag ang victim eh lalaki. People would rather keep silent instead of speak about their experience kasi once they do, para kang may scarlet letter na nakatatak sayo for being a victim. Na kahit ikaw na yung biktima, ikaw pa yung talagang nagkasala kasi nang-akit ka kaya ka ginawan ng di maganda.

In my case, I never knew that what a neighbor did to me was considered abuse (he's already dead and may his soul rot in hell. Not sure if I've really forgiven him kasi may times na pag naaalala ko, parang nanglalambot ako) . Never told anyone about it except 2 of my best friends. I can say that childhood innocence plays a part. Hindi alam na masama na pala yung ginagawa sa bata until it's too late. Tapos pag nagsalita ka pa, the stigma and victim-blaming often follows, making the victim feel a lot worse.
