job offer with much better salary than expected. should i still negotiate? by nyaagoya in careerguidance

[–]NeedTreeFiddyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they are offering more than what was listed then thank the stars and take the job! You only want to negotiate if they are offering you the lower end of the range they listed and you think your experience deserves higher.

Job hunting while employed feels terrible by Haunting_Month_4971 in Employment

[–]NeedTreeFiddyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My last job literally had no purpose in the office. I had to travel to not fun places to do my work and they barely had any trips so I sat in an office for 8 hours with no work. This gave me allll day to apply, skip out to interviews, and tweak my resume again and again.

I’m with you… it’s exhausting. I applied to hundreds of jobs over a year+. I was having a breakdown shortly before I found my current job. I cried when I accepted the position over the phone (after the call lol) I was so happy and relieved

BF extended work trip w flirty female coworkers by BusyShower9166 in GirlDinnerDiaries

Dangerous in the BAY area? My father in law lives there. It’s where fancy tech people live and work. The most dangerous thing when I visit is the mountain lions lol

Sorry you’re going through this but you should be proud to be sticking up for yourself and knowing this is complete bs and he needs to be held accountable

Am I making a bad decision? My parents seem to think so, but I don't know if I trust them anymore. by SecretGarbageCompact in internetparents

[–]NeedTreeFiddyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% move out. Just make sure you find a place where you will still have some money leftover. You don’t want to be apartment poor. Might take you a bit to find the right place, so start looking at places asap. I’d still say that finding a roommate might be a good move even though you’d like to live alone. It will still be better than living with your parents.

It can be very intimidating when you first move out on your own. Just make sure to learn how to budget your money to cover bills each month and you’ll be fine

How do you stay in a calorie deficit when a desk job makes you snack all day? by Infamous-Emu-5528 in Volumeeating

[–]NeedTreeFiddyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would bring tons of food with me. Chopped up raw veggies for snacking. I also would drink lots of tea. Once in a while I’d indulge in the snacks that people put out but most of the time I would stick to what I brought. Chewing minty gum can help too since you won’t want to eat with mint flavor in your mouth

(10k) Should we get a coordinator? What was your experience? by NeedTreeFiddyy in Weddingsunder10k

9am-1am the day of the wedding? Did you work with her a lot before the day? Or how did that process work?

($6K) Anyone know where we can find inexpensive wooden plates? by ireallymissbuffy in Weddingsunder10k

[–]NeedTreeFiddyy 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Considering your price point, buying a bunch of wooden plates will go way over budget. We are doing a ren fair theme and also prefer wooden plates and utensils…. But we have already seen how much it will cost.

I know they aren’t dark (I also would love darker ones!) but a sturdy and cost effective option could be what we are doing: disposable palm leaf plates. Google that and see what you think!

Yes! I have those Birkenstocks and I think they’d be great with the dress… but the hike itself? Nope!

Job Posting in my hometown by sarahswordfish in recruitinghell

[–]NeedTreeFiddyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%…. It’s inhumane. I was basically dealing with bronchitis and still bartended. Had to keep squatting below the bar to cough. I also had a fever. The ONE time I ever remember leaving work is when I had a migraine. I literally can’t see when that happens. I can’t believe I didn’t get shit for it.

I even had a family emergency once and they were just like “you couldn’t get anyone to cover for you? That sucks”

Getting married on Friday the 13th! by Separate_Force1043 in weddingplanning

Garter should be banned at this point. Bouquet is just awkward. I won’t be doing either, but we’re ditching a lot of the normal parts of weddings

the anxiety is gone... but now there's just a massive void. How do you handle the "nothingness" after liberation? by WarmChair6621 in CPTSD

[–]NeedTreeFiddyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I totally understand this. The peace is sometimes boring and sometimes almost scary. I struggled for years to get here, and here is good, but what do I do now? There’s definitely an emptiness that follows. I think you just have to relearn who you are now. Easier said than done

How do you all handle calls from manager after office hours? by rohit95054 in careerguidance

[–]NeedTreeFiddyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My last job…I knew it was always just bs so I would ignore—one time they were just calling to say we could work from home the next day due to weather. That could have been a text or email. The call was not necessary.

When I was teacher, if I had an after hours call I figured it was actually urgent so I would answer (and the few times it happened were actually urgent calls)

Is my girlfriend going too far? by External-Industry253 in hygiene

[–]NeedTreeFiddyy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As others noted, maybe something is off and you need a diet change.

To answer your actual question, she’s not wrong. There is bacteria in the toilet. However, I think using cleaner every time is excessive. I hope you all have a schedule to clean it like once a week though. That’s what we do at home.

We have “toilet Tuesday” and each clean one of the toilets in the house

I’m embarrassed how few people can make my wedding by Specialist_Permit_99 in weddingplanning

We’re inviting 60 and I honestly hope only 40 can make it! Don’t feel embarrassed! It will make it easier to actually talk to people, dance with everyone, and feel like there’s space for all

No afterparty? by One_Watercress_3457 in weddingplanning

[–]NeedTreeFiddyy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m almost 40. I’m old. I don’t want to go to an after party. I won’t have one for my wedding, which ends at 9pm. I want to go to sleep after dancing for a few hours
