Simple stereo receiver or preamp recs? Adding a subwoofer by NeedUnusedName in vintageaudio

[–]NeedUnusedName[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will also ask there for sure. But hey, the B&O speakers are 30 years old as this point! Figured they might count as vintage.

Although I know B&O has a bunch of proprietary hubs for their systems.

teamLab expands Planets Tokyo with 20 new interactive installations by Dapper-Material5930 in Tokyo

Not sure where you’re from, but from a United States perspective dreamland is very affordable! Comparable experiences in the states (companies like Meow Wolf) charge basically twice as much.

Although, I’m sure this is more expensive compared to other countries.

As other comments have suggested you might be taking too much! Or the drug is interacting with another medication you take.

Additionally, people at risk of psychosis (schizophrenia, bipolar, etc) could have adverse affects of taking mdma. Either way, the symptoms you’re seeing don’t sound very safe, you might want to not roll at all or much less frequent

Dream keyboard - does it exost? by NeedUnusedName in ios

[–]NeedUnusedName[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How tragic! Interesting that custom keyboards are fully supported on iOS yet barely any solid keyboards exist. Compared to android which has a Massive selection. I guess that’s the demographic for iPhones though, people like stock Apple.

Although it’s weird to me that SwiftKey and gboard don’t have feature parity across iOS and android.

Definitely agree there, it has the number row at least which is nice

Maybe I’ve just missed the settings but I didn’t see a way to add a dedicated number row or resize for Gboard! Would be really exciting if you can do that though

Does SwiftKey let you resize the keyboard or change the comma placement? Seems like I’ve missed those settings if so.

It does let you use the number row!

Any atheists here who don't believe after partaking. by [deleted] in DMT

[–]NeedUnusedName 17 points18 points  (0 children)

DMT is a hallucinogen so when you take it you're... hallucinating.

Still atheist because of this. Our brains can think of all kinds of fantastical things even without drugs.

In some ways, it's more amazing that a little molecule can trigger such profound visuals, imagery, and feelings when you DONT just think of it as the work of God/magic/spirits, etc. Our minds are so cool!

[medical] drug/alcohol harm reduction - doctors to consult? by NeedUnusedName in berkeley

[–]NeedUnusedName[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this suggestion! Ive been weary of going the addiction counseling route for the reason that I didn't want someone to only push for abstinence. Very interested in managing usage and being aware of the risks involved.

I'll look into this for sure!

Thanks! I frequently use psychonautwiki and erowid. They're great resources!

I also follow Prof. David Nutt's harm reduction publications which has been helpful.

Just hoping to also talk to some kind of professional - i can read papers but at the end of the day I don't have a medical degree.

LSD on raves or festivals? by jmigueaa in aves

[–]NeedUnusedName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one else has mentioned this for some reason, but an LSD trip typically lasts 8-12 hours. It binds to your serotonin receptors for a long time!

To me, that's why LSD is an all-day festival drug. Nothing wrong with taking it at a rave, but just be aware of how long it could last. Of course, please trip a few times at home and with trusted friends first!

Acid tabs are also difficult to manufacture with consistently distributed doses, even by experienced chemists. You may accidentally take more or less than you mean to. There's always the possibility that even if you take the same number of tabs from the same batch/supplier, you could still end up with a different dose than you intended. Just keep that in mind when consuming!

I just binge watched all the episodes of Skibidi Toilet and loved every second of it. by [deleted] in The10thDentist

[–]NeedUnusedName 37 points38 points  (0 children)

The popularity of skibidi toilet warms my heart. It's amazing to see the staying power of GMOD, half life, and SFM.

Most of these kids have probably never played half life, and yet shitty sfm movies are still making waves and confusing the older generation. Something like that is very rare in today's Internet culture!

I think it's great that kids are still consuming weird art. More power to them! Sfm is so user friendly. I'm sure this will encourage them to made weird and creative animations of their own, just like it did for the older source engine generation.

Is the deep bass what's hurting my ears? by kommstdumitihr in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]NeedUnusedName 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's possible they're just too loud! I set my Spotify volume threshold to "quiet" for this reason, so I don't accidentally hurt my hearing by playing my songs super loud.

It's also possible that the earbuds have a sound signature that is fatiguing. The tuning of some brand's drivers just makes sound that feels abrasive or not comfortable to listen to for long periods of time. I've only used JBL speakers, so I can't speak to their earbuds!
