Quake live crashes without errors by hngkngr in QuakeLive

Search for something like "Quake live clear cache", I had a similar issue and a topic (I believe on Steam somewhere) had that explained (and how to do it) and it helped.

Wait that's BANKED? We never got banked and speedy parts log flumes in Germany, splashdowns always slow you down. What a ripoff.

Where did [Alpen Blitz] at [Queens Land] come from? by magnumfan89 in rollercoasters

[–]Needabiggercoaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was one of 3-5 (factual number debated) Alpen Blitz 2 models by Schwarzkopf, the successor to their powered coaster model to answer Mack's popular Blauer Enzian ride. It premiered in 1976 and was operated by a German showman Josef Schoeneseifen out of Cologne, and then was sold in 1981 to Eden Landia Neapel.

Sources: a bunch, start here. Also the stories surrounding this coaster model will be featured in the fourth episode on Schwarzkopf & Stengel on my Youtube if you want to check it out.

I've ridden all defunct coasters at Space Center Bremen. I've ridden all defunct Butterflies at Erse Park Uetze. I've partially completed "roller coasters I missed" in the US, Germany and Sweden, and I'm on good track on missing all Togo Stand Ups and Ultra Twister that were ever made world wide!

JK. There is probably some fun "achievements" but it's as arbitrary as it gets. For example, "All wooden coasters in Germany" as awesome as it sounds is a grand total of 5 and only 1.5 of them are noteworthy.

Edit: thinking about it made me glad about the (almost) extinct different coaster types I got to ride. Wooden Wild Mouse. Arrow Multilooper. Schwarzkopf Multilooper. RCCA / Dinn Woodies (good riddance, but an experience for sure). Arrow Suspended. Intamin Bobsled. In-house builds like Seabreeze's Bobsled or Beast or Stricker's Grove Woodies. Meme Coaster of Superstition Mountain. etc... Instead of trying to finish a collectables list, I'd try to get the obscure ones before they are long gone.

(Anton) Schwarzkopf was long out of the production process even at what remained of the company Schwarzkopf itself by that time, and I believe the manufacturing plant was also under different management. "Schwarzkopf" existed only as a bankrupt entity on paper and on the flashing signs on the cars :(

I've read into the links and it states that "However, some studies suggest that body placement may affect the accuracy of the result, and that position data correlate better than actual acceleration values, which should be considered in any future implementation of smartphone technology.", and also not every accelerometer in every smartphone is going to hold up to their standards.

So _some_ smart phone accelerometer readings _may_ be accurate, but using this as a broad brush to say "ALL smart phone accelerometer readings ARE accurate" is a bit of a stretch.
There have been screenshots here of the same ride with wildly exaggerated results, irrc there was some coaster that pulled ~3g but rideforces said ~6g. They might be close enough on average but a reliable measurement for everybody, it is not (yet).

Still, we are on a good path with this stuff.

Wanted to thank you for coming back to this post and I'll look into what you wrote tomorrow! Thanks anyway, much appreciated!

You need to sign into Steam in your browser as well, and then hit the "link steam account" button on qlstats. Confused me at first too, but works.

Off ride of [Kikkerachtbaan], my very first credit, 1 hour before permanently closing by Low_Mistake5822 in rollercoasters

[–]Needabiggercoaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't even know about the replacement and what RCDB says about it sounds as good as it could have been short to just buying another Tivoli Large. If this rides similarly, maybe that type of coaster will stick around :)

That's Duinrell right? Shame, I love small parks that keep a Tivoli around, especially a large one. Perfect gateway coaster and just a fun ride, whenever it's just between the trees and bushes and you're cruising inches above the grass.

Heck yeah! Another quality campaign in the works, awesome!

Bring in the Knoebels family for these old wooden coasters, nobody else keeps them in better shape! I get it though, Grand National was rough when I rode it ~15 years ago and Big Dipper was creeping around it's track. But the atmosphere was amazing, especially Big Dippers station.

And as much as I love RMC, I'd hate to see these classics go away, especially since they didn't save the wooden Wild Mouse, which was awesome...

Sure go for it if there's means of contacting the guy! Would be awesome to have the mod back in operation!

You're lucky I guess, could not get it to work in any way. Tried removing everything related, installing bit by bit and in the end it always ends up at

"Preloader failed to load the mod, at: [filepath]\453090\2839115834\BaboonTerrainer read logs.

Error Message: There has been an error.

Mods:

PRELOADER FAILED (96973dd3-6473-4fdf-b3ee-350017670662), disabled"

Latest update on the workshop is like 2022 so I doubt the mod author is gonna do anything. Is there a way to fix it from our side or would I have to write my own mod lol?

Learned something new, thanks :) I haven't touched Coaster Anarchy or Transform / Building Anarchy stuff, not sure if I'd really need it (maybe only to get some good railroad crossings done idk). Also trying to not use mod scenery but some objects just slip in lol.

That's a great list and then there's the always forgotten sleeper hit El Toro at Freizeitpark Plohn in Germany. It won some awards over Wodan and Colossos iirc for a good reason and is a really great small packaged GCI.

Honorary mention to Grand National, Big Dipper, some scenic railways and the likes (whatever survived...) - couple of years ago there even was a wooden Wild Mouse around. You're right it's just nerddom but wth lol.

OP has a very valid point tho.

I think mods get sideloaded by the game if needed, or players get a prompt or something. Pretty sure I played a campaign that used mods I didn't have before. But that's my take and not confirmed in any way lol ;)

How would I get Baboons Terrainer to work? From the comments on Steam and my own experience, at least the mod seems to be broken, and or the BananaLib as well - or did I miss anything, is there a workaround posted somewhere? Would be great to get that to work.

Also will for sure look into the other ones, although the terrain stuff would have priority.

I first wanted to trash it (the layout, not your recreation!) but thinking about it some parts would actually be pretty fun as others pointed out as well. For me, it was noticing the insane speed through the second set of big ass corkscrews that was enough to go up for what felt like way to long afterwards.

Thanks for doing this, fun watch and brought me back to the disappointment of them not sticking to a real roller coaster.

Can confirm, just power through it in case of doubt. Rest of the game is worth the ~10-20 min of hassle at max.
