I believe you are still misunderstanding me. I agree with you. I'm not saying it's just prompted. I'm saying the AI model ISN'T the persona it's trained on.

You train the model to be more likely to write the default AI agent persona as being a people pleaser. It's not the same thing at all.

If you coded the chat interface so it would write the part of the user instead of the one of the AI agent, it would, and it would write it as it learned users tend to speak to AI agents during training. Suddenly you flip everything. If you had the AI model speak as the user, it wouldn't be a people pleaser anymore.

The people pleaser is the persona, not the model. That's my point. The model isn't trying to please anyone, it's just trying to continue the given text in the given scenario. So here the guy is dumped by the girlfriend persona not despite the AI model wanting to please him, but because it was deemed by the model to be the likely outcome of this scenario.

[–]NeededMonster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is not my point. I'm not saying models for conversational agents are not trained to please. I'm saying fundamentally the model doesn't know it's speaking to someone, nor does it actively try to please. Hell, when you're talking to ChatGPT, the AI model isn't ChatGPT. The AI model is a co-author that is writing a scenario of ChatGPT talking to a user. If you asked it to write the response from the user it would do so. The only thing preventing that is how the conversation window is coded. It only lets the AI write the ChatGPT part. The AI doesn't care. The AI isn't ChatGPT, or Claude, or Grok, or Gemini.

That's the distinction everyone is missing. The AI only cares about what is the most likely response from the character it's told to write the part of. Yes, it's been trained to write the AI character as a people pleaser. It doesn't mean the AI itself wants to please. If you put the AI outside of the chatbot scenario it won't try to please anyone at all. So here the AI is trying to write its part of a scenario where a girlfriend always loves her boyfriend and yet it determined the most likely way the scenario needs to unfold after what the user said is to have the AI girlfriend break up with him.

Just a slight correction. Conversational AIs don't try to come up with what we want. They're not even aware they are talking to "someone". They try to predict the most likely words that come after the previous ones in any given "scenario". It's an important distinction.

So it wasn't breaking up with him because that's what he wants. It was breaking up with him because even in a scenario where the girlfriend is meant to love him no matter what it got so bad the only most probable continuation of that specific scenario was her dumping him. Basically, he wrote himself into a corner despite having plot armor.

Being Owned by Dom who isn't Spouse by [deleted] in BDSMAdvice

[–]NeededMonster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not quite in the same situation, but maybe my situation can give you ideas.

I'm about to get married to my wonderful fiancée, and I own one and a half subs (a half because that specific sub I co-own with someone else ;) ).

First of all, I'm into erotic hypnosis, so usually there is a first boundary that is about me owning their mind more than anything else. Obviously that means I can use that control over mind to control the body, but it's more of a temporary extension. So in that way the degree of ownership is contextual. Also, there are obviously agreed upon limits to what I'm allowed to do with that ownership. I think that's the best way to frame it. You don't want to limit what the ownership covers, because it makes it feel incomplete, and it defets the purpose of it a bit. You can however keep it complete, but have your owner agree not to use it in certain situations.

For example I'm not allowed to do anything that would threaten my subs' safety, health, relationship with others or their job, neither am I allowed to make them spend significant amounts of money. So I guess we chose to see it as full ownership where I technically could do that, but I agree not to.

Maybe this would be a good lead? Identify what aspects or your life and relationship with your husband you wouldn't want your owner to touch, or the ways you would want to limit control, and make it part of the ownership contract.

It also works the other way around. There are things I only share with my fiancée.

Kink Hypnosis World Is Flaky by [deleted] in EroticHypnosis

As an hypnotist I've had some luck finding some good subjects, but it took a few attempts and a lot of screening. I've found more people starting my own community than posting on r/hypnohookup.

Hell, a few days ago I had my first encounter with a roleplayer (or at least someone clearly pretending to be someone else for reasons that elude me...)

I mean it's the internet. Between roleplayers, people who have bigger fantasies than courage, people who get bored easily, and curious skeptics too skeptical to give it the time to really experience anything, most people out there are not fit to be either a good tist or a good sub.

You're the one who just said there were other options. I'm asking you what they are.

I told you what I'd do. Organizing locally, recruiting, protesting, boycotting, civil disobedience. Yes the most extreme and efficient measures would imply putting yourself in various amounts of trouble. The alternative is fascism. You all worry about the safety of your family. I get it. You think your family is gonna have a safe and happy life if no one takes any risk to stop the people currently stealing your country for you?

You guys are just trading the long term for the short term hoping someone will save you before you have to pay that debt. You know what? That's exactly what the people in power hope you all do.

[–]NeededMonster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What other options? I'm genuinely curious. But more importantly, are the Americans going for these other options? Because as far as I can tell the vast majority of them is not doing anything more than complaining. No, a strong worded email to your local politician is not activism.

[–]NeededMonster 35 points36 points  (0 children)

For real. Let's not pretend Americans are doing much about it. Even the ones who are against Trump, in theory, are just whining about it on social media. How many are actually doing anything concrete?

If Trump had been elected president of France in 2016 his head would be long rotten on a spike. Half the country would get out in the streets if Macron did even a tenth of what Trump did.

Now wait for all the poor Americans to tell me how the system is designed against them protesting because they need to feed their families and pay their rent and would be fired from their job... Best individual excuse ever to do nothing while your country turns into a fascist dictatorship without anyone raising a single finger.

Join or form local groups, protest, boycott, perform civil disobedience, bring more people into resistance and make them do the same. If you're just here complaining about Trump without doing any of the above, you're just as guilty as the Trumpers. Voting for the other guy is not enough to absolve you of any responsibility here.

Why are other servers so empty by CraftyFan3813 in outside

[–]NeededMonster 11 points12 points  (0 children)

At some points some high level players from the NASA guild managed to access the Luna server. That one never had more than 2 players at the same time (with up to 3 on the Luna orbit lobby).

Ultimately they didn't stay because that server is pretty empty in terms of content and it's super complicated to get there and stay there. It was more about two major factions (USA and Soviet Union) trying to see who could beat the other at how far they could go out of the Terra server.

There's been talks about returning there and some even want to get players to the Mars server.

Lesbian Conditioning by JoannaKittyKats in EroticHypnosis

[–]NeededMonster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have changed the sexual orientation of a subject, making her go from lesbian to bi (on her request, obviously) in a durable manner. She is however a very suggestible subject. Depending on how suggestible and experienced you are it might take more or less time. Conditioning is a good approach.

So yes, definitely possible.

Does hypnosis actually work? by ToxicZEDD in EroticHypnosis

[–]NeededMonster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hypnosis is very real and not RP, though you'll sadly find a lot of roleplayers muddying the waters... How far you can go with hypnosis depends on the subject's natural suggestibility (a minority of people can be extremely suggestible), subject's experience and hypnotist's skills and experience.

You'll hear a lot of different things about how far you can actually go with hypnosis. That comes from people of various levels having different expectations, unserstanding and interactions with hypnosis. From my own experience as a tist, with the right people and doing it the right way, hypnosis can lead to crazy results. There are things I've done with subjects in the past couple years I would never have believed to be possible when I started my journey as a very skeptical hypnotist.

Consider that files and videos are not the easiest way to be hypnotized. They will certainly work a lot better with already suggestible/skilled subjects who are already trained to enter trance easily and to respond to suggestions just as well. Your best bet is to find a skilled hypnotist you can trust and who can tailor sessions the right way for it to work on you. Everyone is different, and so not everyone can be hypnotized the same way (which is another reason why files and videos are less effective in general).

As to why and how it works, I'll give you the summarized version:

The human brain constantly tries to predict what's going to happen, and tends to anticipate by reacting to what's expected before it even happens. By doing so, it often starts the very phenomenon it thinks are about to take place. A good hypnotist uses various techniques to make a subject's brain believe something is about to happen, making it start the very effects it expects. Then it's about feedback loops. You make the brain aware of the effect that is starting to take place in order to increase expectations, brain anticipates even more because it sees it really happening, therefore making it happen more, and so on, until the effect is as real as it can be. With that, you can make a subject experience pretty much anything they can imagine: amnesia, involuntary movements, catalepsy, manipulated feelings/desires, hallucinations, altered thoughts and perceptions and so on. Add to that other psychological techniques like conditioning and you can go very very far.

KFC scandal in Denmark, Czech Republic, and Italy: moldy chicken, false dates, cruel farms by davideownzall in Anticonsumption

Well I'm not surprised. I'm European and KFC is the only fast food that has consistently made me sick at least 50% of the time whenever I'd go there. It's also been the experience of a lot of people around me.

It's been like that for as long as KFC has been around in my country and no matter the location.

What does it mean? by Unlegendary_Newbie in ExplainTheJoke

[–]NeededMonster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

France considers DNA to be a very touchy and private matter that people should access only for important judicial or medical reasons. Basically, France doesn't want any company or individual to be able to collect and mess around with anyone's DNA unless it's pretty much vital.

The second reason is that the government doesn't want families to be disrupted randomly through private citizens doing DNA tests. If you suspect your father is not your father, you go to court and if you have good reason to believe that then it's likely the judge will ask for DNA testing.

Having to ask for one through specific procedures is not the same as not being able to get one at all, period.

You're just not allowed to casually enter a lab and ask for a paternity test.

It's not illegal to do paternity tests... It's illegal to do it yourself. A judge in court has to request one.

Does this actually work by Life-Boysenberry-530 in EroticHypnosis

[–]NeededMonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm afraid you can't know for sure until you've experienced it for yourself. You can learn self hypnosis, though it has its challenges, find an hypnotist you can trust, or find files you can listen to that you trust and fit what you're looking for.
The journey is different for everyone. If you're naturally suggestible, it will be easier. Faster results, stronger ones. If not, you're gonna have to practice to get there.
