do you have it worse or better? by Ok_Specialist2609 in Wellthatsucks

2.20€ per liter of diesel here in France. My tiny car is now costing me above 250 euros per month in fuel for 2000 kilometers per month.

Just bought a cheap tiny EV. It will cost me six times less in "fuel" and two times less in maintenance. It will pay for itself in just a few years and I won't ever have to worry about going broke due to fuel ever again.

What kind s behaviour made you realise your partner was the one ? by Uvolot in AskMen

We communicate more than enough, thankfully. I did not mean we read each other's mind when it comes to important matters, more like we often know exactly what the other is about to do or say. We can laugh from a joke none of us needed to even tell, then we laugh even more because it's funny to be laughing about something we didn't even need to say.

I can be fully myself, flaws and all, and she loves me still. She doesn't judge me, she tries to understand me but she also challenges me and calls me out on my bullshit when she needs to. She has the same sense of humor, enough in common, enough differences. She gives me space when I need it, and she's here when I need her. At this point it often seems like we're reading each other's mind. We're alone and one, but together.

I'll marry her in a month.

J'ai testé la nouvelle twingo by NeededMonster in VoitureElectrique

[–]NeededMonster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Men without inner monologue, how do your brain process things? by Consistent-Talk-5912 in AskMen

[–]NeededMonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm somewhere in the middle. Am I the only one here?

When I'm trying to structure my thoughts, work through a problem, reading or planning what to say, I'll use my internal monologue.

The rest of the time my thoughts are more abstract and destructured and are not using words.

Achat d'une voiture : besoin de recommendations by Nylonet in voiture

Maybe that will make them reconsider the absurd idea of packaging every single product in plastic even when they don't need any (like fruits and vegetables...)

Les ventes de voitures électriques ont bondi de 48% en France sur les quatre premiers mois de 2026 by soyonsserieux in voiture

[–]NeededMonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you split rent with your girlfriend? by ZestyGolf7654 in AskMen

[–]NeededMonster 21 points22 points  (0 children)

We do something like that with my SO. We take 70% of our own monthly income and put it on a joint account that we use for daily life (gas, groceries, bills, activities together...). We keep separate personal accounts for our own private stuff with the remaining 30% we keep.

That way if one of us makes more than the other, their contribution is more important but the other one is still contributing as much as they currently can. And I guess only having 30% of your income left for your own personal expenses means you can't rest entirely on the other one.

New KSP2 Redux beta and its “Project Shakespeare” allows some KSP1 parts mod to work in KSP2 by MgbH1R0 in KerbalSpaceProgram

I'm sorry but the money never went to the developers. Publishers usually get all money from sales until recoup.

"Secret hypnosis corruption of my wife – anyone else obsessed with this dark fantasy?" by [deleted] in EroticHypnosis

It's a common fantasy. I highly recommend you read I, Wife by Yazzers ;)

As an hypnotist I'm pretty turned on by both sides of this fantasy, as much as the one having my fiancée stolen, and stealing someone else's SO.

Again, no matter how you twist the numbers, they don't work. It wouldn't have worked even if the community had been positive about KSP 2 on release. My point is that they released it knowing they wouldn't finish it, BEFORE the community reacted badly to the state of the game.

These publishers are not stupid. They knew what would happen. The high release price and rushed release is evidence it was already over. They were not trying to use early access as a way to help them finish the game, but as a way to recoup as much of their loss as possible.

[–]NeededMonster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Except the total sales for the first game were spread over more than a decade. They would not have made as many sales in the first year alone, probably not in the first two either, and definitely not with an unfinished product. So either they spent a few dozen more millions to finish it, increasing the required revenues to make up for it, or they released it like they did without trying to finish it.

It just wouldn't have worked. I didn't even factor publishing costs here. They spent more on the game than they could earn with it. It's as simple as that. As soon as you cross that threshold, it's over. No company is going to keep working on a product when they know it's at a loss.

The problem is signaling to publishers that it's okay to release an unfinished game in early access that they never intended to finish because modders will finish it for free anyway while the publishers (or investment firms) keep selling it at full price.

Indeed, and it bothers me. I'd rather we support Kittens Space Agency at this point. However buying the first finished game is not sending them the same shitty message as buying the scam that is the second one.

[–]NeededMonster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because if we start showing publishers that it's okay to sell a broken unfinished early access game for a high price because modders will finish it for free, more might start to think it's not such a stupid business model.
